Via Ferratas of the Italian Dolomites

[Home]
Katharina and I planned a trip to northern Italy for the fall of 2019. Our original plan was a hut-to-hut traverse hike, however it turned out that most of the huts along the route were closed for the season. Having already booked dates and travel, we ended up "winging it" with day activities, which turned out to be pretty much a via ferrata climb almost every day.

We flew to Munich and spent a couple of days there before driving down to San Vito di Cadore, near Cortina, Italy. We stayed three nights in an apartment there, and then hiked into a mountain hut near Corvara for another three nights. Three nights in another apartment in Sottoguda-Palue finished our adventure. Katharina went on to visit her family in Switzerland, and I drove back to Munich for a fun night at Oktoberfest prior to flying home.

The various links below is my trip/photo journal of the climbs.
