Social Security Across the Generations UCNewsCanada (at) gmail.com
As Canadians, we care.
Give the Gift of Help.
Seniors without money can’t hire
someone. Alone, no one shows up to help.
An entire generation of young
Canadians, just starting life, now caught
between low wages and impossible
expenses, also facing a grim future.
Who is helping them?
This is life insecurity, and we can certainly solve it.
Social Security Across the Generations
Two engaging exercises for realistic decision-making in life:
One.
Imagine
a
scenario
of
survival.
What
will
you
need,
and
in
what
order?
What
is
most
often
forgotten?
Land
you
have
rights
to
be
on.
A
place
to
exist.
Right
now,
an
entire
new
generation
is
locked
out
and
will
never
earn
enough
money
to
buy
land.
Denied tiny homes. Denied the chance to start. Where are your inheritance rights?
Two.
Imagine
what
it
takes
to
create
a
pioneer
village.
The
right
to
build
a
shelter
for
yourself,
of
your
design
and
choice.
A
place
to
work
and
a
place
to
grow
food.
A
place
to
make
things
and
sell
what
you’ve
made.
You’ve
lost
your
Pioneer
Rights,
the
right
to
build a life for yourself by the labour of your own hands. Why are we not free to live?

SUPPORTER
HUMANITARIAN RELIEF
From food banks to basic life insecurity
and unaffordable rent causing a massive
humanitarian crisis of tent cities and
homelessness. Does your city need a
Crisis Response Command Center
coordinating UN-style relief tents and a
work-housing-food life security program?
This is Canada. We can do this.
Youthworks
Under parental direction, creating a permanent pool of Charter-protected work
in all areas of our core economy of essential human needs. All of the work that
used to belong to this generation. Meeting all household needs, with care for
families and the ecosystems tha sustain our lives as the sole basis of the
economy. Gardening, with Food & Flower gardens, and yardwork. Inner City
Orchards, offering not only tree planting but tree care, harvesting, storage and
processing. Light house repair and painting, cleaning, babysitting, cooking. A
family support network. Teams of youth printing a flyer and offering the full
range of services of the group. Grocery shopping, rides and delivery. Everything
from computer help to organizing social events, marketing, preparing flyers and
posters. Meeting community needs, all under parental direction, in the creative
context of family and friends.
Here, we consider the components of life security across the generations, each
aspect of a household budget, meeting physical needs and also recognizing the
care and connectivity needed for broader needs of education, healthcare and
social care. These are the broadest activitied of caring community wherein only
parents know and understand the stages of development of their children, their
interests, needs and wants, and can direct them to the best activities for
learning and development. Right now, our kids are flung into the avarice of the
open market for work and career development, but not all are suited for such a
route. It is at present easy for someone to learn how to make pizza, or get into
bike repair, but entry into the market is atrociously difficult. So much so, that
teams of parents may be needed to get teams of their young adults set up in life,
with starter homes and businesses.
Consider the investment in a rototiller, working several yards in a
neighborhood to grow tomatoes, kale and more. How will that money be
returned from sales? Can the student do paid work as well, simply by showing
up and showing themselves keen to work? A parental plan with parental
investment may be needed, with Green Bonds as labour-backed loans. What we
get back out of the deal is good food at a good price. We can make many deals
like this. There being no limit on the creative spirit and the types of work of
interest.
What we can say is this. Each new generation has the Pioneer Right to carve out
a life for themselves using the best ideas and shrugging off the worst. Tackling
problems their parents thought impossible, and rising to the challenges of a
brave new world. For we now have a world unlike that which our parents
imagined, with much change here now, and much to do to preserve, protect and
defend a healthy vision of life for ongoing future generations. Here we take on
the greatest challenge of our lives, our grand human challenge of meeting our
universal and Charter Section 7 rights to ongoing life, liberty and security of the
person. Welcome to our brave new world.
