Mozart Requiem

by David Whiteley

Mozart Requiem In June 2000, The Wiener Company's Ottawa premiere of Mozart Requiem was enjoyed by enthusiastic crowds at the Ottawa Fringe Festival.

Immortality, jealousy, identity, sexism, genius: all themes worthy of profound examination. Instead, Mozart Requiem offers a quizzical, sometimes dizzying, occasionally profound and entirely speculative look at the gifted composer and musician Nannerl Mozart (and her kid brother Wolfgang.)

The Wiener Company first produced Mozart Requiem in 1995 in Guelph and Toronto featuring the company founders, David Whiteley and Wenna Doig. The following year, Mozart Requiem was produced by Kitchener Waterloo Little Theatre.
