Vince was welcomed home by Mac and Rachel and Zack. Mary was pleased to see Cheryl. She asked where Scott was. Vince and Ada quarreled amicably. Cheryl went upstairs to see Scott. She asked if it were over between them. Mary said she was glad it was over. Vince expressed a desire to get Reginald. He had to be restrained. Zack showed him the restraining order That Old Carrot had procured. Vince stomped out. Mary went after him to stop him. He cornered her. He became disturbing and left.
Scott and Cheryl quarreled. He accused her of being under Vince's thumb. She said she thought they might be too young. He sulked. She got upset. He stomped toward the door. She asked him to come to Vince's welcome home party. He said he didn't know if he would.
Zack decided he should go to the Love house. He asked Rachel to keep Quinn company at his office until he could get back and maybe put in a good word for him. She agreed. They left. Mac waited impatiently for an appointment.
Nancy staggered around the new apartment alone. Tony's appearance startled her. They're thrilled.
Cheryl waited until Scott emerged from the shower. He said he had to go to the Love house. They were civil to each other. She reminded him of all they had been through. He got weird. She bullied him into agreeing to come to the party. He left. She said she wasn't giving up on them and pursued him. When they got downstairs some newspaper people attacked them [but especially her. I wondered if it wouldn't lead to a modeling offer]. Scott said some bitter things about her being willing to go the distance for someone she loved. [She didn't get it. He means if she loved him she would go "all the way".]
Rachel stopped Quinn leaving Zack's teeny tiny office. She told her to admit she was attracted to Zack and give him a chance. [ugh.] Quinn said she had Bad Luck with men. She said she was a happy loner.
Tony assured Nancy they would have met sometime even if she hadn't gone to Victoria's Christmas party. He asked if she was sure about their living together. She said she was. He suddenly remembered he had to meet Mac and fled. She said she'd meet him at Vince's party. He returned briefly to say goodbye again. Sinister music remained after he left.
Zack tried to talk sense to Vince. Vince knocked on the door. That Old Carrot answered the door. Vince yelled at him. They all went in. Reginald reached for the phone. Mary appeared and told him to put it down. Vince told her to go out. She refused. Reginald said they were on a collision course. Vince threatened to do Bad Things. Reginald reached for a wicked poker.
Rachel bugged Quinn. She told her she had almost ruined her life denying her attraction to Mitch. Ugh.
Mac fumed. He decided to leave. Tony trundled in at last. Mac told him to make friends with Adam. Tony refused. Mac told him to be cooperative and sort things out tonight. Tony would rather go home with Nancy. Mac left. Tony told Nancy he thought he'd just resigned.
Mary yelled at everyone. She told Vince it was definitely over forever between her and That Old Carrot. She begged him to lay his anger to rest. Vince gloated a little. The party broke up.
Zack returned to his office. Quinn yelled at him for keeping her waiting. He was not perturbed. He told her she could be his secretary.
Vince gave Mary a bunch of irises. He sort of asked her to be his date for the party. She was skittish. She fled to Scott's room with Cheryl to look at clothes. Ada appeared. She approved of a particular outfit and Cheryl agreed. Exit Ada. Mary asked Cheryl why she looked so sad. They agreed to talk later. Cheryl asked her if she were in love with Vince. Mary said she wasn't. Exit Cheryl.
Quinn took offence. Zack told her she couldn't afford to refuse. [I can't imagine he can afford to pay her.] he was obnoxious. I was furious. He did admit she was overqualified. SHE GAVE IN. I was furious. They kept bumping into each other and being self-conscious because the office was so small. She declared it quitting time [6:10 PM] and left.
Tony told Nancy they could leave the party before Adam got there. She was thrilled. Nancy went up to change and approved of Mary's clothes. Ada helped Vince dress. Mary burst into the kitchen in all her glory. Vince was overwhelmed. Ada beat a hasty retreat.
Scott cruised by the Love mansion. That Old Carrot told him everyone else had rejected him except Peter who didn't really care. He begged him not to reject him. Scott said he would do worse. [I thought: castration. Unlikely, hey?]
