ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

February 27, 1987

Donna and Michael enjoyed themselves. He showed her the view from the Tops observation deck and made certain she found the diamond ring which nestled on a shrub. [Ugh. This is like Mac on one of his bad days.] She was thrilled.

Vince and Mary went in to the party. Ada told Vince he had to make a speech. He talked about what wonderful friends he had and how awful That Old Carrot was.

Scott told That Old Carrot he was going to leave town. He got quite violent and vicious. Reginald accused him of having gone over to the other side. Scott yelled at him for manipulating people. Reginald said he knew best for everyone but people wouldn't listen. Scott yelled.

Donna found a key under her plate. She didn't know what it was for. Michael was vague. He gazed and gazed. They mean to be happy.

Capt Delaney apologized to Vince. He said the DA's office had refused to let them go after Reginald on the evidence they had. MJ said that Peggy Lazarus was seeing Peter. Vince said, "it's a dirty job, but somebody's got to do it." Everyone laughed. Mary brooded because she can't remember things. Vince promised her new memories. Julie Ann screamed. When people came dashing out she said she was certain it had been the killer. MJ phoned for backup.

Scott tried to force Reginald to see how horrible he was. He told him he was sick. Reginald blamed Cheryl. ["It's that girl" he said, and he sounded just like Mother.] He told him he'd find another girl. Scott said he loved this one. He said Vince wouldn't let her see Reginald's son and he wanted to know who his real parents were.

Julie was unable to give MJ any real clues. She cried. Someone had been following her. Adam found nothing. Vince brooded about Maisie. The McKinnons got the party going again. Cheryl danced with Vince and told him to ask Mary to dance.

Peter ran into Michael and Donna. Michael told him they had to talk later. Peter told Donna he hadn't wanted to hurt her. She told him he and Reginald had no business deciding what was best for her. Donna told Peter she loved him but she loved Michael more and always would.

Chad and Trish ran into each other outside Mary's Place and crashed Vince's party. Vince is the only person in Bay City who didn't know Greg and Nancy had split. Nancy and Tony went home. MJ and Adam decided to break the news. Adam made the Announcement. Sensation. To my surprise, Chad did not do anything beyond looking a little odd. I had fully expected hair-tearing, chest-beating, and yelling, the whole bit.

Reginald became faint and made a great show of taking a pill. He told Scott the lawyer who had arranged the adoption was dead and he didn't know anything else. Scott said he was leaving. That Old Carrot collapsed and begged him to help him. SCOTT HESITATED. He stomped back and helped him up and into a chair, and he hated himself for it. That Old Carrot told him he was his son and he didn't believe he was leaving forever. Scott said he was.

Tony gave Nancy a ring with the date and their initials engraved inside. They kissed passionately. "Tony, make love to me," she breathed. They went to bed.

Chad told Cheryl he thought she could be a model. Cheryl was uncivil to Trish. Ada and Captain Delaney insulted each other and got up to dance. [Someone to Watch Over Me.] Vince and Mary talked about her parents. She said she was glad about MJ and Adam and she was fond of Adam. He asked her to dance. They did. Everyone stared. When Mary noticed the staring she fled in embarrassment. Vince wouldn't let MJ go after her.

Peter drank at home. Michael and Donna arrived. Peter tried to explain his motives. He told Donna she'd changed after Michael came and left. He claimed that Michael was bad for her. They offered Peter a choice: give his money to charity or leave the country.

Vince told Mary he liked her. She said she liked him. He said he hadn't been interested in any woman until she came back. He asked her to get to know him as if this as if this were a regular first date. [Mary: I have four children with you. That's not generally the case with guys I first meet.] She agreed to try.

Nancy and Tony revelled in their own home in bed. She demanded food. The nearest food is 2 1/2 blocks away. They fell back on sex.

Peter's third choice is gaol. He sulked and said he wished he'd done more to keep Michael out of their lives. He stomped out. Donna asked Michael about the key. He lured her upstairs to discover what it was all about. He showed her a huge wedding dress and got down on one knee and proposed.

Scott arrived at Mary's Place and eluded Trish. Cheryl was glad to see him but he stomped out. She followed him to his room. He feels guilty about Reginald.

Tony phoned Nancy from the pizza place to find out what she wanted on her pizza. She went into the shower. In came the killer, loving whispers in his ears again. She emerged from the shower, singing. He attacked. She screamed for help.
