ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

February 25, 1987

Adam and MJ went to Mary's Place. They are very pleased with themselves. MJ took off her ring and put it in her pocket because they're not telling until Vince comes home. Chad strolled in. Adam said he wanted to ask him some important questions.

That Old Carrot had a business breakfast in Tops with Peggy. He said he didn't think any Love was safe with Vince on the loose. Felicia dashed up with the news of Vince's release. She was rather bitchy.

Donna woke up screaming. Michael hastened to comfort her. She was comforted. He told her she had to stand up to her father. She said she could. He asked if she remembered about what had happened before she was taken to the hospital. She said not. She said she loved Peter. He said it was time she stopped forgiving Peter for ALL THE THINGS HE'D DONE TO HER.[That's a switch.] Forgiveness gives Peter and Reginald a chance to take advantage of her again. She ADMITTED SHE'D NEVER BEEN ABLE TO BE STRONG WITH THE MEN IN HER FAMILY but they'd never boss her around again.

Felicia rattled on about Mary and Vince. That Old Carrot was not amused. She bounded off. Peggy told Reginald that Peter had been trying to get in touch with her desperately. He said it was preposterous that anyone think he had framed Vince.

Adam told Chad he wanted him in his office for questioning in fifteen minutes. Tony strolled in. Adam pounced on him. Chad advised MJ to make certain Adam didn't dig too deep. Adam gave Tony a hard time because the papers had published the fact that the police were looking for Linda's black book. That was confidential information. Tony asked if he were bugging him because he didn't think he was good enough for Nancy. Nancy told him it was none of his business. Adam said he worried about her because she was family. MJ prevented him yelling at Chad too much. Chad left. Adam scowled and said he didn't like him. [FICKLE. A few days ago he was a very cooperative guy.] He wants to look him up on the computer.

Donna and Michael went up to the house. Nicole greeted them rapturously. Bridget freaked out over breakfast. Donna said she couldn't believe Peter had kidnapped her. Nicole said she was sure he had ordered the yacht to sail.

That Old Carrot told Peggy he thought someone had framed Vince so that when Vince was found innocent he [Reginald] would be framed for framing him [Vince]. It's the perfect crime, he said. She agreed that his theory being correct would enhance his reputation beautifully. He pretty much offered to help her on her way up the ladder of success ["don't let the boys look up your dress"]. Lisa dashed in all packed and told Felicia she was going home. Felicia pled with her. Lisa hates the excitement. She wants to go back to Topeka. Felicia told her she was going to write again and she needed a secretary. Lisa hesitated and gave in. Enter Jamie. Lisa had second thoughts.

Chad arrived at the police station when Adam wasn't in the office. He pestered MJ. He told her it had hurt him to see her with Adam at the Pinetree Inn and know she was in bed with him while he [Chad] was Out in the Cold. She told him to get used to it. Adam arrived. Chad said he'd been born in Chicago NOT on Lakeshore Drive and had worked his way through school. Waiter to bartender to manager of hot young chicks who could sing. Adam rushed out to visit with his baby — the computer — and verify everything. [They talk about the computer almost as if it were psychic.] Capsule psychology: Chad is the illegitimate son of a hooker. He grew up in the slums and would do anything to get out of that slime. He used people. MJ was messed up. He made her worse. He told her he still loved her. She didn't believe that. Capsule psychology: MJ was a middle child. [RIGHT.] She was never the prettiest. She didn't get enough attention because her mother was dead and her father was busy with the baby. She told him he wouldn't use her again. Enter Adam.

Lisa bitched at Jamie. Felicia looked considerably startled when he told her [Lisa] she was beautiful. Lisa was ungracious and got nasty about his having kissed her in the parking garage. Felicia's jaw dropped. Jamie assured her he had apologized but admitted he should have found out her name first. They sulked. Felicia smacked Jamie [I love the way she does it] and told him they had to make Lisa want to stay. She tricked her into agreeing to let Jamie show her the town. She didn't thank her.

Donna talked to Marley on the phone. It sounds as if Victoria is with the Jake McKinnons in California. [Smart move, young marrieds.] That Old Carrot returned home. Michael told Donna to stand up to him. Reginald pretended to be a decent human being. No one bought it. Donna told him he was a monster. Reginald decided it was a better idea to attack Michael. He was wrong. Donna told him Michael was the better man. That Old Carrot said he wouldn't stay in the same house with him. Donna told him it was her house and he had to get out.

Jamie took Lisa to Mary's Place. She was distressed about Maisie. Ada mentioned her being the girl of his dreams. Lisa got a feeling about the killer's having been in Mary's Place.

Adam told Chad he had witnesses who had seen him coming from Linda's room on various occasions. Chad admitted he'd slept with her because of loneliness. Adam asked if he'd ever seen Linda write in a book. Chad said not. Adam let him leave. He told MJ he didn't know whether Chad was the killer but he wondered what he was lying about.

Nicole advised Reginald to leave. Reginald said he didn't need her advice. Michael stomped back in and told him he'd find out what was in the Photograph. He told him he'd lost everyone but Peter to him. It is Michael's family now.

Ada advised Nancy to wait. She pointed out that Adam and MJ hadn't moved in together and yet they were getting closer all the time. [I fail to see what the difference is between living together and what Adam and MJ are doing. It certainly doesn't affect the care and feeding of the infirm man.] Nancy pointed out that Cass and Kathleen had moved in together and got an idea. She mugged Tony and snatched a jukebox quarter from him. She phoned MJ and asked about Cass and Kathleen's apartment. It's on a three-year lease. Nancy was thrilled. Lisa sensed that the killer was a Mary's Place regular. Nancy got off the phone and told Tony they could afford the rent for Cass & Kathleen's disgustingly expensive apartment. Enter Greg.

Adam attacked MJ in the office. She put her ring on. Chad phoned and warned MJ that she'd better keep Adam under control if she wanted him to be her boyfriend any longer. He warned her her arrest could come up on the computer. She hung up. Val came in with the computer printout on Chad. Adam found out Chad had a black belt in karate and promoted him to head suspect.

Jamie suggested Lisa help the police. Lisa said she didn't want to. Nancy said goodbye to Tony. Greg took Nancy aside and warned her not to set herself up as a target for the killer by publicly sleeping with Tony. [You know what I mean.]

Michael and Donna told Reginald they wanted him to leave now. That Old Carrot [That Big Suck] stood up and said, "I want you to know that leaving is my decision, because it's right for me now. Don't think for a minute that you've won." he left. Michael laughed and all the people rejoiced.
