ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

August 21, 1986

Felicia got all dolled up to go yell at Reginald.

Vince said it was against his religion to hate anyone but he found it hard not to hate every single member of the Love family. (Most people except Marley.)

Michael assured Donna everything would be fine.

Kathleen dropped in on Reginald to chat about her mother. He affected not to remember her and told her to leave.

Wallingford spent the night outside Felicia's door last night. He promised never to leave her. He produced an EM Forster quotation about aristocracy.

I believe in aristocracy. Not an aristocracy of power, based on rank and influence, but an aristocracy of the sensitive, the considerate, and the plucky. Its members are to be found in all nations and classes and all through the ages, and there is a secret understanding between them when they meet. They represent the true human tradition, the one permanent victory of our queer race over cruelty and chaos. Thousands of them perish in obscurity; A few are great names. They are sensitive for others as well as for themselves. They are considerate without being fussy. Their pluck is not swankiness, but the power to endure. And they can take a joke.

MJ excepted Marley. Vince snorted. MJ said Jake had good taste. Jake's judgment has little weight with Vince at this point, because his bed wasn't slept in and he hasn't been seen. Vince is sure it has something to do with Marley. MJ told him not to tell anyone. There was a crash. They rushed into the kitchen and Ada admitted she'd seen a schoolgirl in the alley. MJ went out to investigate. Adam arrived to meet with Mac. Mac said he had a favour to ask.

Donna told Michael she didn't want to go shopping. He wanted to take her temperature. (This brings back the memorable "I am doing something. I brought a thermometer.") He told her every time she backed down was a small victory for Reginald. He told her to say what she felt about her father. She said she hated him and wanted him to go to the devil.

Kathleen refused to go. She reminded Reginald of that night SEVENTEEN YEARS AGO when her mother had drowned. He deigned to remember that but insisted he knew nothing personal. She asked how it had happened. He said he hadn't seen the accident and didn't remember who had reported it to him. She blames him for everything.

Mac asked Adam to find out why Mitch's sentence was so much longer than the offence warranted. Adam agreed and Mac set him free to chat up MJ. He told her it was fate they have the same day off and suggested they spend it together. Mac ran into Mitch. Mitch offered to buy him coffee. MJ agreed to hang out but not date. Silence. Cheryl lurking?

Kathleen blamed Reginald for every Bay City death since Hermann. Felicia stomped in. Felicia told Reginald he looked like an ordinary man (that moustache is extraordinary repulsive) but declared him a murderer. He ordered her thrown out and denied it. Gomez came in and said Ludwig was improving. He showed Felicia and Kathleen out. Bad news about Her.

Michael took Donna to Mary's Place. Ada told them she done Mother Love's hair a couple of times many years ago she'd never liked Reginald. They appreciated it.

Mitch told Mac he loved his son. He left. Ada told Mac he'd seemed sincere. Mac thinks Mitch has an ulterior motive.

Adam suggested a pre-serious-post-casual date. He asked her for a ride and swim and picnic. She agreed.

Reginald got upset because he was written up in a lot of magazines despite attempts at bribery. He said he and Michael were on a collision course (like Michael and Donna). He wants to find his breaking point.

Michael said he had tropical plans. Donna was pleased. Tender Love. Donna gave Michael something inscribed "Donna and Michael forever." (Daddy cut the tree down, you see.) She asked him to marry her. He said yes. Reginald phoned and asked to see him for a test.

Reginald told Gomez he found Kathleen fascinating. Gomez told him he couldn't see her again. Wallingford chewed Felicia out. Kathleen told them she could interview everyone on the yacht the night of the death. She showed them the diamond certificates worth a fortune. They got friendly.

Adam told Mac Mitch had been a bad boy. He was a violent prisoner and escaped and things. He needs a job if he's not to violate his parole. Mac said he'd tell Rachel. MJ appeared and said she was nervous, never having ridden a real horse. Mack told her she was in good hands. Adam told her Mac's horses were some of the finest. She said she didn't want finest, she wanted gentlest quietest oldest sickest deadest. He said she was in good hands. They rode off singing "I've Got Spurs That Jingle Jangle Jingle." Mitch lurked in the stables.

Ada told Scott the apartment was his. He asked if he could fill out a form later. She pursued a thieving Cheryl and yelled at her.

Reginald challenged Michael to a card game.
