Scotch Peaks - 2013
For the summer of 2013 the Alpine Club of Canada held their General Mountaineering Camp in the Scotch peaks area of the
Purcell mountains in British Columbia. I was also fortunate enough to be selected as one of ten participants for The
North Face summer leadership program, which was held during week three of the camp. Since I was in the neighbourhood
anyway, in addition to the leadership week, I stayed as a camp participant for week four. This was some of the most
challenging mountaineering I have done to date. In the two weeks I spent there, thirteen alpine summits were attained.
I also learned a great deal about travel through the mountains.
