July 22, 2013

Today was fortunately a restful day. We got up with the standard breakfast horn at 06:00 and had a relaxing meal with the rest of the camp. We spent the whole morning in the dining tent watching videos on spectra vs. nylon slings and how they break in different knotted configurations. After lunch we headed out into the field for a short hike/scramble to a slabby area where we spent the rest of the afternoon placing pitons, playing with trad gear, and building anchors. The mosquitos were bad and I had forgotten to bring the deet. We raced back at the end of the day just in time for supper. Tomorrow we are going to make an attempt on Gwendoline and the Black Fang.

Cyril demonstrating how to equalize a 3 piton anchor.

Looking back towards camp.
