Today was the first day of being a participant of the General Mountaineering Camp as the TNF was over. I spent the
morning taking my first shower in a week and then doing some laundry in the glacier cold water. Andy did the same as
both of our partners were to be arriving today. After several noisy and dusty helicopter shuttles, the girls arrived
and we showed them around camp. Also arriving were a whole crew of Ottawa folk. In the early afternoon a group of
eight of us decided to go up to the top of Canada Ridge. We took a different route up then the previous week, which
was a little easier but looser. Unfortunately half of the camp decided to follow us up, which was fine, but they
started climbing directly in the path we were dropping rocks down. Mike, Katja, Len, Tana, Natalia, and one other
fellow from Montreal were fast and sped ahead while I stayed back with Ingrid who was feeling the altitude. We finally
summitted with a crowd of others and made our way along the ridge to the north to make the descent. Ingrid and I took
a wide route on lower angle terrain while the others took a steeper part. In the end, our longer route got us down
faster than the others. A short walk and scramble brought us back to camp where we relaxed with some adult libations in
the sunshine. The first bit of relaxing that I have had this trip.
A busy morning of heli-shuttles.

Mike and Mike, figuring out the route down. Mike goes left, other Mike goes right.
