Ottawa-Temiskaming Highland Trail 2024

Deb has been bugging me for a few years about tackling this trail. I finally had some time in the spring of 2024,
so we planned to hike the northern section from Rabbit Lake Bush road to the Latchford. Friends Dave and Dominique
joined us.
For logistics, Rabbit Lake Road requires 4WD to enter (and more importantly leave), so we took Deb's old truck to our
starting spot. We
made arrangements with Murray Muir, one of the founders and key trail maintainer to pick us up at the end of the hike.
What we found was a beautifully crafted trail, with very little use. Campsites were meticulous and well appreciated
stops to make use of both as rest areas during the day, and lovely places to spend the night. We definitely plan
to be back to try the sounthern section some day. More information on the trail can be found at the website:
