ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

May 27, 1985

Bridget told Jake what she'd overheard about Peter and Donna not being Marley's brother and sister. "Sure they are. They have to be. Marley needs that transplant." "Well she's not going to get from them. I tell you the only one who can save Marley now is Victoria."

Catlin: I think I should just leave. Sally: No, not yet. Don't you want to talk about it? Catlin: I need to be alone. Tell Kevin I'm sorry. Sally: Well, you already did honey. Catlin: Well then TELL HIM AGAIN. The man got mad. Sally tried to talk sense to him while he berated himself for constantly disappointing them. She told him he shouldn't be alone and asked him to stay with her tonight.

Kathleen and Cass are back in Bay City. She called him to ask if he'd heard from Daphne. He hasn't. She wants a release form from him for further installments of his book. He told her to bring them on over. She said that could be avoided and she'd mail them. He said he'd prefer to receive them personally and either she brought them or he refused to sign. She called him high-handed and gave in with bad grace. She's coming NOW. He's cheerful.

Donna is determined that Marley is going to get well siblingless. Peter insisted she tell the doctor about the motherhood. She agreed to tell the doctor they weren't her brother and sister but not the parentage bit. She's not going to tell Marley the disease is fatal as long as there's hope. They'll ask the doctor about the clinics and things. Peter called for an appointment.

Victoria: So, I just walk up and tell her? Jake: There's no other way. Victoria: Hi, Marley, I'm your twin sister, need a little bone marrow? Jake: That's about it, yeah. Victoria feels like being a bitch because she was given away years ago. Jake figures that the Loves adopted one twin years before. Victoria was unmoved.

Catlin tried to be nice to Kevin but he's back to his old ways of disdaining all entertainment offered by Catlin. He asked to go to his room and they let him. Sally told Catlin not feel bad but he does. She told him not to be so hard on himself. He left although she didn't want him to. She promised him everything would work out.

Donna told the doctor everything and told him not to tell Marley. The doctor recommended specialists and said he wanted to take more tests. Marley appeared and they tried not to alarm her.

Jake tried to convince Victoria to save Marley. She's utterly terrified of the idea of an operation and doesn't think saving her sister's life is worth THAT. Jake spoke gently to her. She took fits. She's irrational. He called her selfish. She said she needed time. He said they didn't have time and left. She screamed after him in a panic "I SAID I'D THINK ABOUT IT. "

Cass and Kathleen bickered about who would get the job. He's arrogant and thinks he will. The phone rang. Cass: Hello? Daphne, how nice to hear from you. Yes, this is quite a coincidence I was just thinking of you this very minute. Wallingford: I said it was WALLINGFORD, Cass. How could you confuse Wallingford with somebody called Daphne? Cass: Of course I'll have dinner with you tonight. Northwoods Inn? Terrific. Wally: Is this code or something? Cass: What time? Um, let's see. How about an hour. Fine. I look forward to seeing you too. He was obnoxious to Kathleen on the strength of this.

Catlin is not being alone he's with Brittany. DAMN JERK. She's got curtains for her apartment like the ones they had in Wyoming. He told her he didn't like to see her trying to make everything like it used to be and they had to look to the future. She agrees. He's pleased. He's going to take her somewhere tomorrow to see about a job for her. He won't tell her where. [He's almost pathologically dedicated to not telling women were he's taking them.] She said something he didn't understand. She clarified herself. She said he didn't need to come to pick her up tomorrow morning. He said of course he did. She said no, he could stay there tonight.

Sally offered to take Kevin to Smiley's to get him out of his grumpy mood on condition he agree to go to bed happy upon their return. He thanked her rapturously and they left. I heard sinister music. I don't know why unless someone was lurking about the door. [Is Catlin going to be at Smiley's with Britt?]

Donna's worried about Marley's frailty. The doctor said she'd have to have regular tests. He assured her of his discretion. Jake arrived to see Marley. The doctor left. Donna said Jake couldn't see Marley. He told her about his job and said he wanted to interview the Loves for KBAY. She declined. He wanted to talk to Marley but Donna was firm. Jake left. Donna: I wish I could warm up to him. Peter: Oh, he seems all right. Besides, Marley likes him. Donna: I get the feeling that he's using her sometimes. She said he was too ingratiating.

It sounds like Jake came to Marley's window.

Kathleen went to the Northwoods Inn and found Daphne wasn't in the book but Cass was with a party of two. She told them to change it to three. They did. Wally arrived and was seated with Kathleen. She was surprised and pleased to see him. Kathleen: You too? Wally: Kathleen, I think somebody should have dinner with him. I think he's about to go around the bend. I was talking to them on the telephone earlier and he kept calling me DAPHNE. Now I've been called some things in my life, but REALLY. Kathleen: Daphne. He told her in greater detail. Wallingford: And I think he's about to snap. Kathleen: Well, well, well. No, he hasn't snapped Wallingford he's just bending badly. Cass arrived. Wally left fearing bloodshed. It turns out Kathleen let the air out of Cass' tires. He was obnoxious. He encouraged her to write to Daphne bowing out. She told him Daphne had been there. Daphne WALLINGFORD. Cass still thinks he's got the job. She spilled water on him.

Catlin declined the invitation. He told her it wasn't going to happen. She asked if he were going back to Sally's and he said not. He said he cared about her and he'd come back because he was worried about her. She said she'd been upset. He said he had too. He asked her to tell him about Zane. She said he was her friend. Catlin said he was a good man and he liked her very much. He sounded like to tell her Zane loved her but decided against. He left.

Sound of things being moved about. And cupboards looked into. Bingo said a strange voice. A man. A smashing of something. WHERE IS IT? He said. Sally and Kevin returned. She sent him to put his pajamas on. Sinister music. Sally found something closed.

Cass and Kathleen were friendly and competitive. He said they should do the adult thing and make a wager on this job.

Donna's worried about money. Peter's not as worried. He has a PLAN. [his Albertson thing I guess.] she went to check on Marley.

Jake's managed to virtually destroy the rose trellis but hey, Marley doesn't care. [If Ben didn't kill it it can take anything, I'm sure.] She's pleased to see him. He told her Donna didn't want him to see her. Jake was kind. He wants her to get better. She's not worried. Donna knocked on the door. Marley stalled for long enough to get Jake into the closet. Marley's looking forward to her birthday and the summer. Donna said she loved her and made her get into bed. She left. Marley giggled hysterically and Jake emerged from the closet, possibly kissing her before he left.

Cass didn't want to bet for money. She suggested the loser cook dinner for the winner for a week. He vetoed that. He's eaten her cooking. She suggested the loser take out a full-page ad in the newspaper praising the winner to the skies. Not that. He said something exciting and novel. How about we kind of leave it open. How 'bout we say the winner gets his choice of anything -- within reason. [It sounds to me like he's talking about sex but it remains to be seen.] She agreed.

Kevin's couldn't sleep so he's reading. Sally asked if he were still upset. He said he just wasn't tired. She told him how much he meant to her and Catlin. More than anything in the world. He said he loved her too. She suggested he count sheep. She found the smashed something and asked if he'd done it. He said not. She told him these things belonged to Catlin. He said he knew and he wouldn't do anything like that.

Jake found Victoria gone with all of her things and called Bridget.

What smashable something would Catlin own? It sounded like glass. The only smashable things I can think of are those little joke things with a cigarette or some such inside and a mallet, bearing the legend IN CASE OF EMERGENCY. Perhaps a photograph.

Why is Catlin hell bent on not telling Brittany about the job? What could she do? Rope tricks at Dee's amusement park?

How is it that Donna told the doctor? Wouldn't it have been enough to let him test them and find them incompatible?

These young male McKinnons do have such a tendency to go in Marley's window.

It wouldn't be fair for Cass to get Daphne's job. They should either get it jointly are neither of them.

What is Peter doing?

Is there must be a man breaking into the cabin, I wish he were one of Sally's. Phil, good old Phil.
