ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

May 28, 1985

Nancy cries in her room. The Corys hope Rachel will decide to move back.

Sally took Willa's things to Catlin at Larry's. He was surprised and pleased to see her but confused as to why she thought he should keep them. She showed him Willa's picture with the glass all smashed and said she thought Kevin was more upset than they'd thought.

Jake and Bridget discussed Victoria's incredible selfishness. Victoria returned. Her adoptive parents were called Carson. She's scared. Jake comforted her. She doesn't want anything to happen to Marley. She agreed to do it but she wants one day in the house as Marley. They told her it was impossible. She insisted.

Catlin: You think Kevin did this? Sally: Well, he says he didn't, but -- I think he must've been taking out his anger that way. I'm really sorry. Catlin: Don't worry about this. Sally: Well--you had it framed. It obviously meant a lot to you. Catlin: I was going to give it to Brittany. Sally: Oh. Well, I guess she'll be disappointed. Catlin: Oh, don't worry about it I can still give it to her. Larry had copies made. Sally: Good. Catlin: Honey, I can't believe the Kevin would do this. It's just not like him. [I guess he didn't see the smashing of the mug.] Sally: I know. Well, there was no one else in the house. Catlin: Well, what about one of his friends? Sally: No, he hasn't had a friend over in a couple of weeks. It had to be Kevin. Catlin: Listen, I don't want you to punish him, OK? Sally: What he did was WRONG. Catlin: Look, it's done, and the thing is Kevin would never do anything like this unless he was very upset. Sally: I think--it's because he misses you. Catlin: Yeah. I know. Sally: I'd like to replace the frame if you want to give it to Brittany. Catlin: No, no. I'll do it. Sally: Are you sure? Catlin: Yeah. There's no hurry. Sally: Well. How's Brittany? Catlin: Fine. I'm going to talk to Mac today about getting her a job. Sally: Oh, really. So she'll be in Bay City for a while. Catlin: For a while. I keep telling her she has to get on with her life. She has to stop living in the past. And I think the job is going to help her do that. Sally: Maybe, yeah. Catlin: yeah. And then I'm going to separate myself from her. But I've got to do it one step at a time. Sally: I know. Catlin: Can you be patient? Sally: I'll try. He wants to take Kevin riding next week. She left. He mused on the strangeness of Willa's death.

The man who broke into the cabin reported to someone over the phone that he'd found nothing and nearly been caught. He'll keep looking around. "But what if they get suspicious and say something to the cops? ... Well you'll take care of that, right? After all -- you're a cop yourself. "

Nancy's moping about. Mac tried to cheer her up and she snapped at him. She apologized immediately. They had a chat about Perry and death. Rachel appeared. Nancy decided to go to the hospital to see Tom and maybe candystripe a little. Rachel will likely be back in her hotel by then. They want her to stay awhile but she says she doesn't feel pressured there. They begged. She was kind but firm. Mac went to get the car. Ada told Rachel she could take Mac for granted once too often.

Victoria insisted. She wants to BE MARLEY. She cried. They objected. They gave in.

Catlin and Brittany arrived at the Corys'. To see about being a stable hand. Catlin seems to've been brushing up on his ASL. He told them she had vast experience and had ridden the rodeo. Ever-gallant Mac said she was much too pretty to be a bronco buster. Britt got the job. Catlin asked after Nancy. He finds it hard to believe that Perry's dead. He wants to spend some time with Nancy. [Is this Nancy complicating the relationship? They should get furniture on wheels. Make it easier on him.] And now off to the stables. Said Rachel to Ada: "Hm. Mac seems very interested in her." [It must be the off-the-shoulder blouse.]

Jake offered to give Marley a ride home from the hospital. Nancy appeared full of concern for Marley and told a really great story about a girl who thought she was ill but the tests turned out to've been botched. Donna took notice. Nancy asked if she could ride with Jake and Marley. Jake agreed reluctantly. Marley invited her over. She went to visit Tom. Jake suggested to Nancy that Marley was sicker than she knew and maybe she shouldn't visit. Nancy agreed with him. He was relieved.

Britt likes the stables. Mac likes Britt. He left. Britt made Catlin try rope tricks.

Dale came over to have a chat with Larry. She says she's clean and getting help. He tried to get her to tell them about the guy who gave her the stuff. She was reticent. She gave a start of recognition upon seeing the photograph of Willa. He pounced on the reaction and demanded to know where she'd seen her. She said she hadn't. He persisted. She said she'd seen her with the pusher in the school parking lot. He was OK looking between 20 and 30. The kids called him Sly. She's lost his phone number. She'll check it out.

Sally and Kevin went to the Corys' to ride. Kevin was thrilled to hear from Rachel that Catlin was in the stables. He was briefly sent out on the terrace while Rachel had Sally explain Brittany to her. After hearing a very sketchy explanation she advised Sally to watch out for Brittany. Kevin reappeared eager to go to the stables. They left. Ada gave Rachel a talking to about Mac.

Roping of stools and things. We are enjoying ourselves. Sally appeared in the doorway and looked unthrilled. Catlin was pleased to see Sally and Kevin. He introduced Kevin to Brittany and explained that she was deaf etc.. Britt said he was handsome and looked like Sally. She wanted to help him saddle up. Catlin told Sally now Brittany had something to do [Sally: Instead of pining away for you, yeah] and she'd get used to seeing them together. Kevin said Brittany was a nice lady. Sally looked unthrilled.

Mac's got a man looking for Mitch. He begged Rachel to stay again. She agreed for a few days. For Nancy's sake. Rachel then asked if Mac went riding much. He said not. She was satisfied.

Jake carried Marley out. Victoria came in the other door. Bridget made her rub makeup off. They went upstairs.

Larry cut open Willa's belt and found a KEY. How strange.

Jake put Marley to bed tenderly and promised he wouldn't let anything happen to her.

Donna insisted Dr. Edwards test Marley again. He said reluctantly he'd talk to her.

Bridget told Victoria that Dr. Edwards would find out she wasn't sick or Marley. She's panicked.
