ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

August 27, 1987

Mitch said Sam had lost the job because he was related to him. Felicia said it had been her bad suggestion not to be up front. (Is it legal not to hire someone because he's related to Mitch, who is already on the payroll?) Mitch went downstairs. Mac came up. He told Felicia Brava was having a crisis and he needed Rachel's layout artist desperately.

Amanda and Julie Ann goofed off the night before Amanda's first day of work. They saw Sam walk in.

Michael asked John if he blamed him for their father's death. He appealed to Donna for support. John and Donna told him to leave it alone. Michael refused to give up. Victoria dashed through in a state. Michael went to talk to her. Donna told John Michael would keep digging. John told her to confess.

Felicia told Mac she could get him Sam Fowler.

Amanda listened to Julie Ann drool over Sam. It was disgusting. Amanda thought about the night they met parking cars. Sam said hi. Amanda said hi. End of conversation. Sam went to stuff his face. Amanda was piqued and approached him. They chatted about job opportunities. He mentioned again what a filthy rich spoiled brat Amanda must be, and said she'd probably never have a job. She went back to Julie Ann. Amanda deems it wisest not to introduce herself.

Donna said she couldn't. John is fed up. He said they hadn't been in love so it was meaningless. Donna said it was too late and he'd never understand now. The cover-up would give it meaning. John is a pig. He suggested the rape meant something to her and that was what was stopping her.

Victoria wept and looked at the incriminating photographs. She hid them when John came in. She made slightly pointed remarks.

Felicia called Mary's Place looking for Sam. Ada recognised the name from his credit card. Sam agreed to rush right over and nab the job. Amanda gave him her alias -- Mandy Ashton. She resents Julie Ann saying he isn't interested. She sneaked a look at his credit card receipt to find out his name.

Victoria asked John why he'd never married. John knocked domestic bliss. Victoria asked if he'd never been in love (sounds like Donna's eavesdropping?). Michael burst in and said John had probably been in love too many times to count. Victoria insisted that John not call Michael hotshot. John left the room. Victoria asked Michael why he didn't throw John out of the house.

Sam met with Mac. He produced his portfolio.

Donna ran to Felicia for help. (Or she had her come over. Same difference.) She's a wreck. Felicia asked if she felt something for John and was prevented from the resulting guilt by coming clean. Donna admitted it wretchedly. It isn't love. Michael is love. Felicia told Donna to put John out of her life. Donna said Michael was perfect and expected everyone else to be.

Michael doesn't mind being called hotshot. He glorified John. Victoria didn't like it. Michael told her about the time John brought a non-English-speaking Lopez (transfer student) out of his shell and pretended it was no big deal. Victoria made cryptic remarks. Michael would not be swayed. John appeared. Victoria left. Michael took some plans and went with her. I think John thought about dancing with Donna. Donna came in and ordered him out. He told her Michael would freak out. She said she'd settle it with Michael. He told her she didn't believe that what they'd had was meaningless. He was menacing. He tried to force her to say it. She told him to let her go. He persisted. She told him he made her sick. It sounded like someone got slapped. I wouldn't put it past him.

Amanda and Julie Ann's movie plans fell through. Amanda decided to turn in early.

Mac was impressed with Sam. He hired him. Felicia rejoiced. Mac begged Sam to start tonight. Sam fell in with it.
