Sam pored over the classifieds. Cass rolled up. Mitch introduced him to Sam. Felicia consulted Cass about getting a good job.
Diane yelled. Mary told her to mind her own business. Vince asked Mary to leave them alone. She went to change. Diane tried to convince Vince that a bird in the hand was worth a Mary in the bush.
Rachel fretted. She told Mac and Ada she was worried about Amanda.
Matthew and Amanda chatted. He told her all about Suzy Strathmore. He also told her that the party was her coming-out party. (Matthew has never known when to keep his mouth shut.) She wasn't delighted. She decided to do something about it. First she promised to teach Matthew to dance.
Cass said connections were better than the want ads. He looked through Sam's portfolio. Felicia agreed that Mac should be looked up.
Vince assured Diane that the time they had spent together meant a lot to him. She pled with him. Vince was firm. Mary came down. Vince went to change. Diane warned Mary she was going to fight for Vince.
Matthew and Amanda continued to chat. She produced a radio.
Mac and Ada tried to soothe Rachel. Cass phoned to say he had a kid who needed a job. Mac threw him to the valet parking. Adam arrived in a tuxedo (I burst into tears). Rachel told him to phone Cap'n Delaney because Amanda was missing. Mac said she wasn't. Adam and Ada said she was just late. Ada rushed Mac off to the kitchen. Rachel got into a flap for a minute before realising she should be being sensitive to Adam's ruined life. He smiled gently and sadly a lot, but he bore up. He made Rachel go to change.
Matthew was too self-conscious to do more than stand stiffly. Amanda reasoned with him. She got him moving.
Cass reported to Sam. Sam was close to disdaining the job but Mitch advised him to take it. He left. Felicia bitched because every limo in town is going to the Cory party without her. Cass got an idea.
Mary told Diane she'd made her point. Diane asked if she loved Vince. Vince reappeared. He walked Diane out. He has a ring box. He went back in. Mary assured Vince she wasn't upset. He said he had something to ask her. He told her he felt very close to her since they'd had such a tough time. Cheryl interrupted all of a sudden. They left for the party.
Felicia wondered what Cass was up to. Mitch dragged his feet about the party. Felicia fled to change.
Ada came up to see Rachel. Rachel said she hated it when the children grew up. Ada went to dress.
Matthew danced. Amanda informed him that he was in her debt. He asked if she was coming to her party. She said coming out parties were lame. Matthew said Mac and Rachel were very worked up about it and it wouldn't kill her. She said her friends in Paris would hate her. She sent him home, telling him to leave Suzy to her.
Felicia is afraid her dress will fall apart. Mitch got her to dance. They got warning from Cass. They went down.
Mac found Rachel dabbing her eyes. He consoled her. Rachel assured him she wasn't worried about Amanda any more but she was afraid she was staying away because of her. Mac gave her a talking to. They argued. Mac assured her Amanda would show.
Sam took Vince's keys. Cheryl beamed at him. Amanda let Suzy out. Sam gazed after the departing McKinnons. He mistook Amanda for a carparking cohort, since she was wearing jeans and a white blouse, and snapped at her. She didn't bother to correct him.
