MJ told Chad she would rather DIE than ever do That again.
Mac reassured Adam.
Michael chafed and decided to leave the party.
Cheryl arrived at the hospital with news for Scott. She thought he greeted Patricia Kirkland too civilly. [he called her Trish.]
A policeman found Mary in the alley. She had managed to conceal Vince. She got rid of the cop. Vince was flip. She made him come with her by threatening to turn him in.
Trish went in to cheer up That Old Carrot. Cheryl told Scott she could prove Vince's innocence.
Michael told Nicole he wanted to ask Reginald some questions. She reproached him for wanting to duck out of a party for one of his best friends. He said Adam would understand. Michael made his apologies to the Corys. Adam sounded quite heartbroken to hear he was leaving. Nicole left to keep Michael out of trouble. Adam wishes MJ would come.
MJ cried. She screamed at Chad when he called her baby and said she'd have to betray everyone she cared about if she helped him. She denied owing him anything. He asked what he'd ever done. She told him he'd turned her into a whore. He expressed his regrets. She was naïve. He set her up with a record producer and then an agent. He claimed he hadn't known they were a lustful producer and a lustful agent. She was 18. He admitted to being too ambitious. He said he didn't plan on being a pimp forever and he wanted their plans to work out. She said if she didn't help him he would tell everyone about her. The phone rang. She said it was probably Adam and suggested Chad start with him.
Adam was worried when no one answered. He told Mac something was wrong and he was leaving. He ran into his parents on the way out and told them not to worry.
Scott told Cheryl her evidence didn't prove anything. She accused him of wanting to believe Vince guilty. Trish appeared and told Scott she would go and get him some food. Cheryl told Scott she felt sorry for him. He warned her not to do anything dangerous but she paid him no mind. Michael arrived and asked Scott's help. Scott gave Nicole a hard time for siding with Michael. Michael begged him to help Donna by asking Reginald about the photograph. Scott feels muddled. Michael and Nicole left. Cheryl was willing to be friendly again but Trish arrived with Scott's soup. Cheryl stomped off.
Mary took Vince back to her apartment [Felicia's apartment, really]. He refused to stay. She told him he would fall down if she didn't hold him up. He didn't believe her. So she let go and he went right down. [It was charming.] She dragged him onto the couch. She told him to behave because she had to go to the hospital [to establish a sort of alibi]. He told her to go to Reginald and tried to struggle up and out. He staggered a couple of steps and collapsed. She called him is stupid stubborn idiot and dragged him around a little.
Rachel is invisible today. Alfred and Vivian are staying over for one night. They haven't been in Bay City in years. Jamie is abstracted. He is imagining an ideal dark-haired woman. [Ick.] Sara thought he was off his nut. [it is dumb.] Everyone told Alfred and Vivian how nice MJ was.
MJ told Chad she'd thought she would never feel clean or happy again after she left Chicago. She threw herself into police work to make up for the bad things she done. She asked him not to ruin her life now that she had a little happiness. He showed her his scarf with two hearts knitted into it. She'd knitted it for him. Such sentimental value. He pretended to be a reasonable person. Adam knocked. MJ went to let him in. Chad hid. MJ sort of stood rooted to the spot. Adam asked what had happened. She sounded about to tell him but she chickened out and said the thought of meeting his parents had petrified her. He laughed. She said his parents would think she wasn't good enough for him. He assured her that even if his parents couldn't stand her she wouldn't lose him. She told him he made her feel better and she loved him more than anyone ever. Chad listened through the door and looked a little distressed.
Scott told Trish he loved Cheryl and explained the situation briefly. She assured him it would work out.
Vince came too. Mary told him he was burning with fever and threatened to call the hospital. He said he'd leave rather than be arrested. Ada phoned. Mary didn't tell her about Vince. Vince was pleased.
Adam helped MJ mop up her face. He went to get the car. She called Chad out and ordered him out. He said it had hurt him to hear her talking to That Guy. She assured him she'd meant every word. He assured her she hadn't and Adam didn't love her because he [Chad] loved her and she loved him [Chad]. She threw him out. He said he'd be in touch. She said he wouldn't and she wouldn't help him. He told her he loved her and left.
Scott told Trish about the gazebo. Cheryl returned with something to say.
Mary and Vince argued about Scott.
The Cory party waited. Vivian wonders if MJ cooks. [MJ has been traditionally the only cooking McKinnon on the face of this earth, cf the cheeseburger fiasco and the orange knees and dog.] Alfred has written a book. Jamie is being stupid again. MJ and Adam arrived. Adam introduced her to his parents reverently. Everyone was very civil.
Cheryl told Scott she didn't think they should be together any more. He said he didn't want to lose her. She left.
Vince: I don't want to have to get rough with you, Mary. Mary: TRY IT. Vince: as I remember, you were always — TICKLISH. Mary: oh, that's not fair. Vince: anything is fair. Mary: GOOD. [She did something violent to him.] Vince: [collapsing] you always fought dirty. Mary: give up? Vince: give up. She helped him back to the couch.
MJ apologized for being late. They talked about MJ's work. When Adam's mother found out exactly what MJ was doing now she pretty much said "Oh my god, you don't actually have to turn tricks undercover, do you?" Adam assured his mother MJ wasn't that kind of girl.
