ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

January 23, 1987

Michael made a triumphant exclamation. Peter heard him.

Chad found MJ at Mary's Place and told her he had plans for them tonight. [He looked very like he had just showered. What is it with this man and showers?] She said he didn't and hung up. Adam wandered in looking very lovely in a black overcoat. [Such a reassuring shape.] She has to change. Mary returned to Mary's Place.

Vince said "my wife" and coughed a lot and fell down.

Michael and Nicole revealed themselves. They argued with Peter about their respective rights. Michael played with Peter and played on his affection for Donna. He let them look at the papers. They found nothing. Peter asked Wallingford what was in his briefcase. He threatened to phone the police.

Adam laughed to think what would happen if he brought home an actual prostitute for his parents to view. [MJ is nervous enough without that sort of merriment.] He plagued her with descriptions of how New England his parents were. He wants them to meet the woman he's going to spend the rest of his life with. He reminded her of her surprise. She appreciates him but she won't let him take her home to dress. Suddenly Cheryl called to say she had news about Vince and issued orders not to go away.

Vince pulled himself together and got up. He imagined the same return as he had yesterday, but longer. He put "And I Love Her" on the jukebox and they danced. He came to and cursed himself for a dope. Cough, cough.

Wallingford fled ignominiously. Nicole and Peter argued about which of them was more illegal. Peter left. Nicole told Michael she felt sorry for Peter. Michael said they had to find other safes. She wants to leave it be. She draws the line of breaking into safes. He asked her sort of to spy gently around the house. She bullied him into going to the Cory party.

Jamie talks as though he hasn't been married twice. He has no date. He's a little jealous of Adam. [But think, Adam has no pet turtle.]

MJ and Adam and Mary and Ada wondered what Cheryl's news could be.

Cough, lurk. Cough, lurk. Vince hid in the alley as Cheryl came to the up to the back door of Mary's Place.

Nicole and Peter made-up. He promised to try to help Donna. He asked her to make certain Reginald knew that he had everything under control. He has big plans. He's working on a merger. Nicole warned him he could be making a mistake.

Jamie went to Mary's Place and helped out and reassure MJ a little about Alfred and Vivian. [I would die to see Vivien Gorrow as Adam's mother. It would be charming.] He went on to chat up Sara a little. He tried to order a date.

Adam warned the McKinnons and their allies that if any of them knew anything at all about Vince it had to be reported. They assured him they understood. He went to look around.

Cheryl let herself in. Vince overheard her trying to phone Scott at the airport. [Some kind of slip there. Naturally, I mean hospital.] He wasn't there. Adam found her and told her they were all waiting. He included his little warning speech, adding some things about loving her as a little sister. She assured him she knew nothing about Vince's whereabouts. Ada appeared and dragged her into the dining room. Cough, lurk, cough, lurk. [There's something very poetical about that.]

Cheryl reported that their family mechanic had seen a stranger tinkering with the McKinnon car. Everyone figured this proved that someone had fixed it not to run and had therefore set Vince up. MJ and Adam said it didn't prove any alibi. Adam apologized. Cheryl is determined to find more proof. Enter Captain Delaney. Ada sent MJ and Adam to their party. She and Mary tried to gallop madly off in all directions but he shepherded them toward the kitchen. Ada kept him out while Vince got out. Joe gave them Adam's warning speech. Ada told him she didn't even like Vince. He left.

Jamie is disillusioned by his former airheads. He saw Sara as a date possibility. She hesitated. He bullied her into it. [She shouldn't be dating. She has a man. Or is it a figment of her imagination?]

Tony brought Mac up to date on the prostitute thing. Mac was interested to hear about the police involvement. Adam crept in. Tony left. Adam and Mac argued about the relative merits of freedom of the press and dead cops.

Cheryl bugged MJ about her hooker outfit. MJ snapped at her. Cheryl was disconcerted. MJ told her her job made her touchy and stomped into take a shower. [Her fake star tattoo came and went. How odd.] She thought about Chad in Chicago. Chad phoned. Cheryl told him MJ was in the shower.

Ada left for the party. Mary went into the alley. Vince sprang out and asked if there was something wrong with the kids.

Nicole and Michael arrived. Matt and Adam agreed to talk later. Adam wondered where MJ was. He decided to phone. Rachel is picking up the parents.

MJ returned Chad's call. She left a very discouraging message for him. She got dressed. She apologized to Cheryl. Cheryl gave her a pep talk. She left for the hospital, threatening [jokingly] to tell Adam about the sexy guy who had called. MJ made as if to leave. Enter Chad. She reminded him he was supposed to leave her alone. He told her he needed her. He said he'd set her up with a great act.

Adam worried about MJ. He said he thought he should go over to the McKinnon house. Jamie and Sara arrived. Ada was abstracted.

Mary asked Vince if he'd gone to the Love Estate to be revenged on Reginald. He became angry and bitter and told her to go back to That Old Carrot. He coughed and fell over. She knelt beside him in much the same way as she had knelt beside Reginald a week ago.
