Nancy and Tony spooned in the alley. Greg appeared and asked to be introduced.
Michael told Jamie that the Vulture had seemed defeated. Chad introduced Nicole. She sang.
Vince attempted to goad Mary into turning him in. She wasn't able to. She yelled at him for putting Cheryl and MJ — especially MJ — under pressure. He had a coughing fit. She told him he was wrong about Reginald. He ordered her out. She did used that he was testing her to see if she would betray him again. She shoved the money at him.
Adam made a nuisance of himself at the Pig Whistle, pestering MJ. For the benefit of the patrons she rebuffed him time and time again. She told him that Tony was investigating. Adam said he'd lean on him a little.
Nancy performed the introductions. Tony invited Greg in for a beer and chat. Greg stomped off.
Jamie and Michael hugged Nicole and praised her. Michael told her about the photograph. She insisted That Old Carrot would never endanger Donna's life. She went back to sing.
Rachel was shown to a table.
Out in the car Adam apologized to MJ for having yelled at her Wednesday. She forgave him. They kissed a lot and I became very well acquainted with Adams right ear. [They were very sweet. He held her chin a little, and later he rested his forehead against her face while she felt his face with her hand. Hard to explain, but lovely to behold.] She's worried about Vince.
Vince refused the money. Mary told him it was from the restaurant and he needed it. He asked about his kids. She told him they were fine. She told him Scott and Cheryl and Michael were working together. He suspected Scott of being a sort of Reginald spy. Mary told him Scott was trying to be objective. He asked whose side she was on.
Nancy phoned around trying to find Greg. She feels guilty. She's seeing only Tony. Tony was pleased. She told him to run along so she could talk to Greg alone if he should show up. He kissed her and trotted off to the Pig Whistle.
Adam: this is forever, MJ. MJ: forever is a long time. Adam: there will never be anyone else for me. MJ: me either. Adam: I love you. I love you. I love everything about you. [Kissing. And how.] MJ: you love EVERYTHING about me? Adam: except for your cold feet. MJ: I don't have cold feet. Adam: I have the frostbite marks on my ankles to prove it. MJ: OK, fine. Next time I'll just wear LONGJOHNS to bed. Adam: oh, that could be very tricky. MJ: do I really have cold feet? Adam:. But I happen to love those little icebergs. And just about everything else that's attached to them. He told her he loved her because she cared so much about so many people and things. She said no man had ever thought she was worth a whole lot before. He told her the world was full of fools. She can't believe such a wonderful man cares about her. Kissing.
Rose arrived at Tops. She thanked Sara for her birthday and went to leave some work for Mac with Rachel. Rachel was slightly ungracious but let her sit with her.
Reginald arrived Tops. Nicole thought he looked tired and summoned Jamie to examine him. She bullied him into going home.
Mary told Vince she wouldn't protect him if he went to the Love estate. He bugged her about the fact that she'd left him and her children. She smacked him. They argued about Reginald.
Rachel waited for Mac. Rose tried to explain to her about the birthday party. Rachel didn't seem to think it needed explaining. She phoned home to see if Mac had checked in. He hadn't. Rose prepared to leave. Rachel apologized for her rudeness and said she was glad to see she was Mac's friend. Rose said she wanted to be her friend too and advised her to hang on to Mac.
Adam left MJ in the Pig Whistle. Tony approached her and said he knew her from somewhere. She rebuffed him. He told her he was working on a story for Brava. She cut her hand on a pitcher when Chad walked in. She refused to help Tony with his story. He said the public had a right to know. He went back to his table. Chad bugged MJ.
Jamie found Reginald's pulse was a little fast. That Old Carrot looked up and saw Mary had come in. He said he knew why.
Greg arrived at Mary's Place. Nancy apologized to him. She explained about Tony. He ran out for some air into the alley. She pursued him and attempted to explain more clearly. He told her to leave him alone. He smashed a window. [What if Greg killed those prostitutes? Greg the Ripper, only they weren't ripped.]
Mitch tried to talk to Rachel.
MJ rebuffed Chad more vigorously than she had Adam or Tony. He reminded her he'd helped her and loved her. She told him he'd made her life a nightmare. He told her she owed him big.
Jamie advised Reginald to check into hospital for a checkup. That Old Carrot tried to tell Mary he was only unwell because he didn't have her. She ordered him to obey Jamie's orders. He said he would if that was what he had to do to get her back. He heard a noise outside and ran to the French windows with his gun. Mary shoved him away from the door and called out into the garden for Vince to flee. Reginald clutched at his chest and fell down. She screamed "Reginald" and knelt over him.
