Michael and Donna woke up. The phone rang and stopped. And rang and stopped. Michael recognized it as Her signal and answered the phone very lovingly. Donna was put out. She asked to talk to her.
Nancy fretted about the killer. Tony promised to protect her.
When MJ dropped by Chad's apartment he was very inconsiderately rather naked in bed. He bugged her a little. He accused her of blushing. She said she'd checked out his alibi for Josie's murder and no one had seen him. He said he wasn't a homicidal maniac.
Tony has a very soothing effect on Nancy.
Chad continued protesting his innocence. He kept mentioning Crystal Gayle at every turn. ["I'm booking big talent into Tops, like CRYSTAL GAYLE... I looked at the lighting for the CRYSTAL GAYLE opening" etc.] He is making an effort to get himself out of the slime pit. She said she didn't care. He contended that he was a suspect only because Adam was jealous, seeing how MJ and Chad were together. MJ implied that Bad Things would happen to Chad. Chad said he wouldn't have sent her to do his dirty work for him.
It was Michael's mother, MRS. HUDSON. [Right. One of the best documented facts in the world is that Michael's name is really Garrison.] Donna and Michael are to visit her down on the farm. Donna told Michael she was nervous, never having been on a farm before. [Not so. Donna and Michael once spent a week alone together on I thought it was his brother's farm when, apparently, the twins were conceived. Someday I will unearth the page. *] Michael assured Donna his mother would love her. They put the phone out of commission.
Brava phoned Tony in a bad mood. Nancy was unable to detain him. She read something in the paper about Greg.
Adam chatted with Greg about the passenger list. Greg denied everything. Murtaugh yelled at him and left. Greg felt bad.
Mac has hired Zack to be Peter, I think. Quinn was thrilled when Rachel told her. Enter Zack.
Donna remembered she had to see Dr Glaser. This photograph business is very frustrating for her.
Dr Glaser chatted up Felicia. They talked about the killer. She has a sensible view of the Miller arrest. He doesn't. ["In cases like this police should anticipate copycat killings."] She intends to broadcast her show from Tops, live.
MJ tried again and was unable to confirm Chad's alibi. He got upset. She said she was leaving. He said he had something to show her. She told him to get dressed. He told her she could leave if she didn't like it. He apologized and said he hadn't intended to make her uncomfortable. She didn't believe him. He asked what had happened to them. They quarreled. She made to go. He confronted her with BRANDY PANDY, a meaningful symbol of all those years ago. She was moved. She begged him not to do this to her.
Crystal Gayle is one of Dr Glaser's [ALAN'S] favorite performers. How fortuitous. Felicia made him a reservation. Enter Rachel. Exit Dr Glaser. Rachel advised Felicia to pursue him. Felicia refused to be wicked.
Greg ignored his lawyer's advice, saying he had nothing to hide. Adam gave him a hard time because he said he'd been catching up on his reading. A self-professed genius who is breezing through med school isn't allowed to use studying as an alibi. Greg said he was reading up on Freudian analysis for no real reason. He pointed out that if he were the killer he wouldn't be likely to board planes under his own name. Clever Adam pretty much said it could be a sophisticated double bluff. Greg said Someone was very likely trying to set him up.
Dr Glaser assured Donna that she was not the cause of her problems. He said her father had caused deep emotional scars.
Zack and Quinn bumped into each other at every turn. He confessed himself hopeless at alphabetical order. He asked her back for dinner. She said she had to eat and she might as well.
Nancy told Rachel about Greg's being a suspect. Rachel freaked out. Nancy said she didn't believe Greg was guilty and refused to move back into the Cory Romance. She stomped over to Greg, who told her he and Adam both thought Tony could have set him up. Nancy didn't believe it. Greg tried to warn her off Tony. She insisted she loved him. He told her he'd investigated Tony and produced the evidence pertaining to the previous dead girlfriend. Nancy told him she and the police already knew about it. He pled with her. She refused to listen. He told her he loved her. She told him he was sweet and she knew he could never hurt anyone. Tony came in and started a fight. Rachel broke it up, threatening to take Nancy home to her place. Greg suggested Nancy asked Tony if he had any money [the implication being that if he had spent $189 on a plane ticket he wouldn't] and left. Tony apologized to Nancy but she was a little standoffish. He said he'd been promoted as a reward but he'd refused the desk job.
MJ marveled at BRANDY PANDY. Chad said he'd kept everything of her he could hold on to. They reminisced about the night he'd won it. She had gone on a crash diet and lost 5 lbs and so she had wanted to have her weight guessed but the guesser guessed her pre loss weight and his scale confirmed it so Chad had furiously flung 100 baseballs into a wicker basket for a bathroom scale and they had weighed her properly in front of the cheat so he apologized and gave them BRANDY PANDY. [Don't you kind of wonder about people telling each other a story they both know in such detail? I guess people do rehash things, but not quite so coherently and chronologically.] MJ was sniffing throughout. She told Chad she hadn't come to hurt him or hassle him. He asked her for Linda's black book. She said she couldn't give it to him. She admitted she hadn't broken the code completely but she knew both their names were in it. He pled. She said Linda could have named the killer.
Killer music.
How could Linda have named her killer enough to identify him [as such]? Do they just want a new suspect? I guess they just don't know, so they think she could have met him after Peter and written him down.
