ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

March 19, 1987

The papers have nicknamed the killer the Sin Stalker. (Let's not talk about it.) Cheryl was loyal to her relative cops. Sara mentioned Crystal Gayle's opening.

The killer listened to Crystal Gayle music and looked at her picture in the paper and heard mother's voice saying that singing and dancing women had no shame.

Adam worried about Murtaugh. He's not at home. MJ tried to reassure him. Adam feels that something is wrong.

Michael took Donna into his house. He assured her she and his mother would get along swimmingly. He gave her a guided tour of his trophies and mantelpiece photographs. Among the former, his award for the SQUASH competition -- not the game, the vegetable. Among the latter, Michael as basketball player, Michael as marine, undead brother. Mother HUDSON refuses to believe John really blew up a few inches from Michael in 'Nam. Michael is certain no one could have survived the explosion. (Of course the body was mangled beyond all recognition. I didn't know the creep was alive to begin with, so to have him dead and undead all at once is a bit much.) Enter Michael's mother graciously, with a cane.

Chad cornered Cheryl and Sara with the thrilling news that Cheryl was up for a major ad campaign. Chad said she needed a bikini for some more pictures. Cheryl seemed a little weird. Sara offered to lend her one. They have to get the shots to the committee by 6pm, so this afternoon at his apartment. Cheryl seemed weird so Chad suggested Sara come along. All set.

Adam kept trying to phone Murtaugh. MJ conceded that something could be wrong. Adam decided to go to Murtaugh's apartment. Enter Captain Delaney. Exit Adam. MJ explained. Captain Delaney said he was worried about Adam. MJ made excuses for him. Captain Delaney advised her to help ease the strain a little whenever possible (nothing vulgar was suggested). She assured him she longed to. He suggested the wedding as a good distraction.

Killer music.

Cheryl was introduced to the hair and makeup Rosemary. AHA -- a revealing question. Cheryl's weirdness was lest Scott be present. Chad assured her he wouldn't be.

Michael's mother's name is Clara. (I think she must be an impostor. Why else would the whole family suddenly be called Hudson?) She got nutty about brother John. She insisted he was undead. (Ugh.) Michael tried to shut her up. She produced a letter from one of John's old friends saying he was convinced he'd seen John but he'd fled. Michael told his mother a letter from Willie Benson proved nothing. Nurse Doreen hustled Clara away for her nap. Clara told Michael to investigate this. Donna looked funny. Michael dragged her up to his old bedroom.

Sara drew Cheryl's attention to BRANDY PANDY, whose chest was decorated with a button reading MJ. Cheryl confronted Chad. Under her persistent questioning he admitted that he and MJ had once been very close. Then he changed the subject. Mitch photographed Cheryl a little.

Captain Delaney and MJ admire Adam tremendously. Adam came in looking very bleak and stunned. MJ was concerned. He said Murtaugh had shot himself. MJ comforted him. Adam fell to weeping in an appropriate fashion. Then he got upset and yelled a lot about the rotten job and the toll it took on people. He asked them to leave. They obliged.

Killer music.

In Michael's room Michael found a jewellery box. He told Donna a story. The first time he kissed her the next thing he did was fly to the corner jewellery store and arrange to buy a ring on time. What with one thing and another he never got around to giving it to her. (This makes nine rings between Michael and Donna. Excessive, nicht wahr?) So he gave it to her now and made improper suggestions regarding his boyhood bed.

Adam yelled a lot to himself. Captain Delaney went in to talk to him. Adam is quite overwhelmed by the horribleness of it all.

Greg's mother told him he had to stop the sinners.

Cheryl warned Sara not to tell MJ about the modelling. Sara gibbered obligingly about Radio Days. MJ wept a little and told them about Murtaugh. They were sympathetic. MJ said she was worried about Adam. She decided to go home. Cheryl asked her how close she had been to Chad. MJ was evasive. She told her straight out it was none of her business and it was a bad time. Chad phoned and suggested she come over to chat about Linda's black book. She rushed right over. He asked about the tears. She told him a friend had committed suicide (I expected him to ask eagerly, "Is it Adam?") They argued about who had a better right to Linda's book. He suggested they work together on it. She saw the pictures of Cheryl and freaked out.

Adam brooded dangerously and crumpled paper and swore to get the killer.

Donna looked in Michael's trunk some more. She looked at his and John's old high school yearbook. Michael became abstracted. He's getting his hopes up about the undeadness. Donna came across John's dog tags and became strange. "John Hudson. Methodist. Blood type B+" She seemed particularly stricken about the blood type. (I wondered if they had been in an accident together.)
