Mac says this may be the best Christmas ever.
Zane refused to listen to Felicia's explanation.
Ada yelled at Chris and told him Nancy was not moving in with him. She was extremely irrational. She blamed him. She accused him of trying to get the benefits of marriage without the commitment. He set her straight [eventually] and said he wanted to marry Nancy but she had rejected commitment. She went to talk to Nancy.
Felicia explained. Zane told her about fishing for the sake of doing nothing but waiting. He said he didn't want to know her explanation. Long silence. She told him about Grant. He instantly called her darlin' and said he'd take her home. All is well.
Mac has a shot at buying Ardesly Microprocessing. SUCH a coup. Rachel reminded him of Amanda's play. He said he'd take the jet. Mac is fearfully busy. Rachel advised him to delegate more responsibility and hire more Peters. Enter Amanda. Mac told her he'd loved her composition. He confessed he had to go away and promised to be back for the play.
Donna tried to talk Marley out of finding Michael. She said she'd coloured the story slightly and he might be bitter now. Marley was not moved. She doesn't care what kind of man he is. He's her father and she means to find him.
Ada tracked Nancy down and told her to marry Chris if she wanted to live with him. She gave her her credit card and told her to buy a wedding dress.
Jake stopped by the Todds' to offer whatever help he could. Carter is very firmly doing everything himself. Tom let him test the baby's bottle. She asked him to try to get Carter to slow down. He told Carter about his father's death [lungs. A miner. Like Vince.] He offered help. Carter stomped off to Grant's alone. Tom delayed him briefly to tell him to accept help but he was not moved.
Ada and Nancy have reached an impasse.
Grant died of no known cause. The doctors intend to ask other hospitals for examples. Chris got a note telling him to go to an emergency at the Loves'.
Rachel advocated giving Nancy her freedom. Ada doesn't think she's fit to have control of her own life.
Donna received Chris graciously and showed him her document. Chris was upset at being taken away from the hospital for this. She demanded her share and he said the stuff belonged to Egypt. She said she'd oppose him. "Donna, it's your party. You can do whatever you want."
Zane gently rebuked Felicia for careless driving. She said she was hurrying for him and also MAD at the whole Edouard situation. This is not a good day. He comforted her. He is still in favour of marriage. Kissing. They decided it was time to go to the Todds'. He'll drive.
Peter told Donna she was wasting her time with Chris. And said she had to leave Marley alone.
Dee put Tom to bed and was set to mince onions. Jake is in charge of the baby. Marley told him he was good with him. She took Grant for a minute and he clamored to be back on Jake's lap. Marley feels better about Grant [Sr] seeing Grant [Perry]. They agreed they'd be good parents. Marley rushed off to see Larry.
Nancy came back with towels. Ada got insane. Nancy said it was IMPOSSIBLE.
Marley returned to Jake and they decided to go to Barnesville to check out the Garrisons. They are mystified by detectiving. Marley's thrilled to be about to find her father.
"Dear Mom. I'm 18. Legally, I'm an adult. And in my heart, I'm an adult too. I'm ready to start living my own life Mom. I know you don't believe that, but it's true. I love Chris VERY MUCH. Living together is just something we have to do now. Times have changed, Mom. It's not the end of the world. I wish it didn't have to be this way between us, all this fighting. I'm hoping that we'll be good friends again VERY SOON, OK? I love you, Mom. Nancy."
Felicia and Zane brought food for the Todds. Tom told them Carter was working and working. They disapproved. Zane's father died once. Enter Carter. They offered any help. He declined. Tom's worried about him.
Ada found Nancy's note. Rachel trusts Chris.
Felicia and Zane are concerned about Carter.
Nancy went to Chris's apartment. He gave her a hard time about leading him to believe Ada was all for it. He wouldn't let her in.
