ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

March 17, 1987

MJ scolded Adam for not sleeping. He refused to give up looking for Josie. They heard a vague report of a note sent to Brava by the real killer. Adam sent for Tony without further ado.

Quinn secreted Zack. Ugh. He was in the depths of despair until he got word he didn't have to go to court. He decided to play hooky and drag Quinn with him. She said she had work to do. He ordered her to have fun with him.

Ada marveled at the portrait of Mary. Vince said it was of Marissa. He asked if she were the sort of woman who should be working in a saloon. Mary appeared and asked why not.

MJ tried to calm Adam. He gibbered about obstruction of justice. She pried him off Tony. Adam wanted him to let them in on his correspondence. Tony said the public had the right to know the cops had messed up. Tony showed them the note. Adam ordered it analyzed. [Forgive me, but I'm not certain I see quite how it's messing up to arrest a man in full murderers' regalia with his hands about a woman's neck. It's unfortunate, but hardly stupid.] Adam and Tony don't get along.

Zack told Quinn to lighten up. He said she didn't have any fun because she wouldn't let anyone close to her. She agreed to go back to his place to get acquainted.

Vince and Ada assured Mary Marissa had no place in a saloon. Vince said Mary had eaten leftover meatloaf and bowled wonderfully well. The bowling surprised her. She wangled an invitation to bowl with him.

Adam said the note matched the right ones. MJ worried about Josie. Murtaugh fretted. Adam made him feel guilty, unintentionally. They got a call and all rushed off to look at Josie's car.

Nancy flung herself into Tony's arms in quite a state because the killer is his best friend all of a sudden. He assured her he'd protect her.

Mary rushed to Felicia in a bowling shoe panic. Felicia was bewildered. Mary explained. Felicia calmed her. She used to bowl as captain for the Romeo and Juliet bar & grill team. She took her under her wing. Mary panicked. She said she and Vince were completely different. Felicia said that didn't matter. What about Zane and Felicia? And they can talk about their children.

Zack's place was a mess. He was a little defensive. Quinn regretted having come. He gave her a hard time about spontaneity. She started breaking his dishes to prove how spontaneous she was. It was pointless and I hated it. He loved it. Near kissing. They were interrupted by Julie.

Felicia advised Mary not to worry about Mary I. she asked Mary what Marissa had done. She said she'd done charity work and come within a few credits of a degree in psychology. Exit Felicia. Enter That Old Carrot. He said he wanted to tell Mary the truth about himself.

Our cops arrived in the car park in time to see the opening of the trunk. They were distressed to see Josie's body. Adam looked for the note. Murtaugh became upset with himself. Adam and MJ [2 minds, 2 hearts, etc] asked how the killer could have known that the plane wouldn't take off. They thought perhaps he might have intended to fly with her and resolved to look at the passenger list. Murtaugh felt terrible. He had come to know Josie a little. Adam attempted to console him. He said it wasn't his fault.

Julie just dropped by to do her laundry. Quinn forgave her. Zack didn't. He took her aside and told her off for interrupting. She agreed to leave. He gave her money for the cleaners. She left.

That Old Carrot told Mary he didn't blame her. He admitted to being ruthless and cruel and manipulative. She pretty much said she knew all that and she wasn't impressed with his honesty or his tactics.

Zack poached eggs. He and Quinn both have an aunt Eloise. His family is a close-knit nuisance. They created a fuss at his graduation. He was happy to see her relaxed and open. Actual kissing.

Ada asked Tony about his closeness to the killer. Nancy sprang to his defence. Tony is resigned to it because of Adam. He went back to work. Nancy lit into Ada. Ada apologized. Nancy stomped off. Enter Mary. Exit Ada. Vince made a great show of paying the rent.

MJ was concerned about Adam. He seemed to weep a little, having phoned Josie's husband with the news. Josie's husband had yelled at him quite unreasonably and he'd heard her children in the background. MJ comforted him. She tried to get him to go home. He insisted on waiting for the passenger list. This case has disillusioned him about the human race. He has a sneaking suspicion that it's composed entirely of sleaze. [Even though he knows their life is swell.] MJ refused to let him think that. "Adam," quoth she, "one of the things that I love most about you is that you always see the good in everything. Don't let this case take that away from you." She hugged him consolingly. [What a frightening concept — Adam the innocent, Adam the complete non-cynic.]

Quinn broke it up for no reason. Zack makes me sick. She admitted they were attracted to one another [better her than me] but she's cautious.

Mary proudly showed Vince her new bowling shoes. She made certain he understood that she couldn't compete with Mary I.

The passenger list came in. Adam gave Murtaugh the day off. Murtaugh objected. Adam gave him something small to do. Murtaugh said he wanted to phone Josie's husband. Adam forbade him. MJ convinced him to let him. Exit Murtagh. Passenger list: Aaron Ammerton [?], Sheila Baker, Tommy Bolton, Ken Bolton, GREG HOUSTON. Adam decided that was too obvious [no, it's just a sophisticated double bluff, like Nigel's green ink in Hickory Dickory Dock]. MJ agreed and asked who would want to set up Greg. Adam picked Tony [they have the strange idea that Greg and Tony are best friends. [Oh, silly me, I said they were.]]
