It started raining again by morning, so we hung out a bit in the tent until it slowed enough to warrant cooking up a
pancake breakfast. After eating, I started to feel a little ill. Both a general weakness and sick to my stomach. The
first hour of hiking was not pleasant, but I figured that my body was dehydrated. I continually sipped on my water
bladder tube as we hiked, and by the time we got to our first rest stop at Pincher Lake, I felt normal again. The
weather varied between cloudy and cool with a light rain, and warmer with a peek of occasional sunshine. We hiked
around Pincher Lake and then headed north towards Islet. We had to cross a couple hundred meters of watery bog at one
point, which got our feet slightly damp. Then we had to climb some 100 meters up above Stammer Lake where there was a
nice lookout. There was even a sign informing us that this was a lookout (just in case you didn't happen to notice
the really nice view). We ate a quick lunch up here and then started hiking downward as a light rain once again fell on
us. The remainder of the trail was rolling, with a few short but steep sections. We only saw one other couple today.
The trails were otherwise deserted. By the time we reached Islet Lake we were both quite tired, so we stopped at the
first campsite. It was a nice one so we decided to stay. We rested for the remainder of the afterenoon and then
cooked up an Indian boil bag supper. The sky cleared up a bit as the sun was
setting but the air also got slightly chilly so
we lit a small fire to keep warm. We hit the sack just shortly after nightfall because of wanting to get an early start
tomorrow morning.
