Cass fetched up on the shore of Cecile's island at LaRusso's feet. He was escorted inland saying he'd find his way back to Kathleen.
Kathleen keeps thinking about her mother and is considering researching her mother's death for a romance novel about her parents. [oo ick.] Chris reported to everyone that Sally was extremely critical.
Marley asked Victoria if the things Nancy said were true. She said she knew Victoria had a tendency to confuse wishing and reality. Victoria kept silent. Marley asked her friends. Nancy produced the letter. Marley was crushed. She said the party was over and stomped out. Nancy and Tom and Dee feel terrible.
Cass refuses to enjoy himself. Cecile tried to open his eyes to the splendour surrounding him. When she pointed out a piece of pre-Columbian art he said he hated pre-Columbian art. She dropped it so that it broke and said they'd find him something he liked. Very obliging, is Cecile. He said he'd like to go home. She ignored him. Czaja rushed in saying "the Redmen are coming, the Redmen are coming." Cecile: Cass, go with Czaja. Cass: OK no, not again. Cecile: I said, go with Czaja. Cass: no. Cecile: LARUSSO, in here. Cass: I am staying right here. Cecile: get him out of here. Cass: ah, come on guys. Hey, who are the Redmans? Cecile: just get him out of here. Don't hurt him though. Cass: HEY, why can't I meet them, Cecile? I might get along with them swimmingly. Cecile: gag him, too. Cass: oh, don't GAG me howl gargle gargle...
Nancy is completely undone. Bridget made them explain the Big Row. She refused to believe that Jake and Victoria had slept together and rushed off to find Vic. Enter Vic who coolly informed Nancy that it was all lies [created by Nancy herself, she implied]. Nancy became hysterical and flung herself on Victoria.
Catlin told Sally how much he loved her [in great detail] and told her she had to survive for the Good Times to make up for the bad times. Her eyes opened an she croaked "I love you." He chose to interpret this as a sign of recovery. She blissfully informed him that she was not scared and said to tell Kevin she loved him and to remember her. Catlin protested.
Donna enlisted Bridget's aid in breaking up the fight. A lot of shouting ensued. Dee and Tom and Nancy left. Bridget began to give Vic a hard time.
Dickie and Evelyn bored Cecile silly. Evelyn was eager to meet Cass but Cecile denied all knowledge. She said it had been "Czaja, I mean LaRusso." LaRusso with his hair colour changed. Evelyn was forced to admit to having imbibed a little something. They told Cecile about Dickie's speedboat. Cecile promised to come to dinner soon and showed them out. Cecile fetched Cass and apologized for doing these horrible things to him. He forgave her magnanimously and suggested he bathe. She decided to bathe too.
Bridget received the impression that Victoria and Jake had been betraying Marley from Victoria. Bridget called her selfish. Vic said she'd saved Marley's life and Marley had repaid her by making off with the one person she cared about. So what if Marley's hurt? Donna appeared and dismissed Bridget. Make assured her Marley was all right. Donna asked if she and Jake were through.
Sally is too unstable to be put under. Catlin appeared and silently hugged Kevin tightly. Kevin: is Sally OK? Catlin: no. [in a very small choky voice. It was perfect.] They hugged again and everyone looked terrible.
Nancy got upset because she found out about Maisie's message. She told everyone Jake said there was nothing on with Victoria. Dee: what do you expect to the guy to say? Do you think he's stupid enough to tell the truth? Nancy: boy. Maisie thinks we made a big mistake. Tom: how would she know? Nancy: because Maisie's Maisie, that's how. She knows when anybody's lying. She sees right through everything. Dee: yeah? Well not when some sexy guy is batting his eyelashes at her. Come on, you know Jakes a charmer. Nancy is convinced that Jake was telling the truth. Dee thinks the evidence points the other way. Tom said it was between Jake and Marley now. She went home. When she opened the door Jake in blissful ignorance was on the doorstep. He said Marley had called and asked him to meet her there. Much to his surprise they beat a hasty retreat.
Catlin told Larry Sally had been run off the road and he wanted a report. He insisted on going back to the cabin to be by himself. He's on the verge of tears, poor sweet.
Cass in the bath told Cecile he didn't know how he felt about Kathleen. She plied him with champagne, seeing that he was weakening. He discreetly poured it into the bath water until the bottle was empty. He volunteered to fetch a new bottle [she thought the change of heart [read: tactics] was due to the fact that she was letting him be the aggressor now] and never came back. She splashed nastily.
When Marley arrived Jake stood up from his lounging spot on her couch and treated her with a sort of easy camaraderie which was painful to see, considering. When he tried to kiss her she shut up her face and leaned away. He asked what was wrong.
Catlin thought about fooling about with Sally and flowers when he returned to the cabin. To the tune of Almost Paradise.
Cecile yelled at her subjects. They rushed out to look for Cass.
Vic told Donna about the letter [neglecting to mention she'd commissioned it].
Marley said she was looking at Jake in a whole new life [sic]. She said she wanted the truth at any cost and she had two questions upon whose answers their future depended.
