ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

September 25, 1985

Carter pleaded with Jake to stay a while longer. Jake was firm.

Bridget fed Victoria breakfast [salmon and scones and gooseberry jam]. Vic wants her to help get Jake back.

A young man was caught trespassing on Cory property. He said nothing.

A cheerful Cass bounded into the McKinnon kitchen. Kathleen's dead tired. He is concerned. He told her he'd set up an interview with Edouard for her. She's worried about Felicia. She doesn't think she could interview a clam. Cass wants her to subtly find out about Daphne from him. Cass had an errand to run. Kathleen: oh that's really terrific. Things are about to blow and you're going to go get your haircut or something. Cass: don't worry. Nothing could possibly happen without ME. Kathleen: you know you ought to DONATE your ego to posterity. I mean modern science would be WONDERSTRUCK. Cass: OOOH, you really are in a bad mood. Enter Wallingford who let it slip that they were going to try to contact Zane. Kathleen was not thrilled. Exit Cass and Wally. Enter MJ who had heard everything. She said it sounded like old times. Kathleen said it was totally different.

Omnia vincit amor. Says Bridget. Victoria thought about telling Marley how much she loved Jake. She asked Bridget for time alone with Jake and to let on to Jake Vic was stockpiling sleeping pills. Bridget was aghast. She can't lie. Jake called to say he was coming over. Bridget sent her to get dressed.

Jake told Carter about knowing Vic before. He bitched about the royal blue blood of the Love family. Jake sent his love to Mrs. Todd and all the little Todds and left.

The silent prisoner left Mac no choice but to order him turned over to the police. Enter Chris who exclaimed "HAWK." turns out they were brought up together after Mother Chapin fled to the southwest. Tom White Mountain was their Indian father. Chris and Hawk were pen pals. Hawk was in an orphanage. Tom adopted him [there was a long story about how Chris had written 3 letters and Hawk only one so Chris went out and checked out the orphanage, making such a pest of himself that they practically begged Tom White Mountain to take Hawk away. Chris was in it only for the letters which he never got anyway.] Mac left. Hawk said he'd been sent with a letter from the real [Chapin] father.

Donna went to Smiley's and found Marley hadn't shown up and hadn't called. Maisie said Marley wasn't the same and Jake was leaving. Enter Jake. He told Donna it had nothing to do with her. She tried to wish him all the best and he said "what you wish me I wouldn't wish on a dog." Donna told Maisie to tell Marley she'd be at Lesoleil. Jake insisted on holding the door for her and saying GOODBYE. Thunderous applause from Carter as the crowd. Jake pressed upon him a bank account with $50 for Grant. "You make me real sad, man" said Carter. They embraced.

MJ took to playing shrink. The girls fought about being without the men they love. Kathleen says she doesn't love Cass. MJ told her INTERPOL had wired them that Lesoleil had taken a loan from a company with suspected underworld ties and Daphne lived in Bay City 15 years ago and was involved in an accident with the subsequent lawsuit. Kathleen wishes she didn't have to tell Cass.

Cass left Wally trying to reach Zane on the radio.

Tom wants Chris to read the letter. Chris wants to burn it. Hawk showed him a weird thing with the Majorcan symbol on it. [Like so. 3 interlocking horned rings]

Kathleen and Cass snooped in Michaud's office. She apologized for the fight at breakfast. Kathleen wants to expose Lesoleil. Cass wants to save it [and by association his job]. Enter Donna.

Bridget tried to feed Jake. He told her he was leaving town. She wailed about Victoria. And everybody who loved him. He said Vic would be OK. Bridget told him the sleeping pills story. Jake refused to believe it. Bridget played up very well. He advised professional help. Enter Victoria.

Donna came to see about getting her job back. She raved about Felicia. Cass and Kathleen praised her no end. Donna left. Cass fears she'll rat on them "she didn't seem THAT suspicious" "Donna Love is suspicious of the CAMPFIRE GIRLS." Kathleen told him about Interpol. [At least the funny money bit.]

Hawk wants to leave something with Chris. Enter Nancy. Chris told him to tell her nothing.

A stranger flirted with Marley the waitress. Dee stared at her and raved to Carter about how they had to get Jake back. She had an idea. Carter went to get him. Dee tried to think of something.

Victoria played the depressed self-sacrificing female to the hilt. Jake was kind. He asked if she were OK. They decided to try to be friends. He won't go to the movies with her.

Hawk left. Nancy was nosy. Hawk will be in Bay City until his mission's accomplished. Chris discovered the bag had been left behind [he didn't want it]. He was going to go off after Hawk but the hospital called so he put it in a drawer and forbade her to touch it. Exit Chris. Nancy took it out and found a green carved figure.

Jake and Victoria thought about Marley. She told him to go. She said he needed her. She ordered him out. She told Bridget she wanted to be alone. Enter Donna complaining about everyone avoiding her at Lesoleil.

Dee's thinking and not hearing Wallingford. He speculated on whether his being her manager [she's singing at the Northwoods Inn] was a conflict of interest [he works there]. She decided it would be a great idea to recruit Jake as her manager. Exit Wally. Enter Jake.

Cass locked the door of the office until Kathleen agreed to let him approach Daphne. They quarreled. He said she had to interview Edouard. She gave in. He confessed he hadn't actually locked the door. He sent her off raving peu [???illegible] at her. He laughed and laughed.

Dee attacked Jake. He declined managing. Marley appeared. Jake was on his way out the door. Marley said nothing. Jake smiled wryly and left. Dee told her she had to go stop him.
