ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

April 16, 1985

Larry talked to Peter. He says Catlin's in a real mess. Peter says he doesn't care about Catlin rather Sally and she's going to be hurt no matter what happens. He says if one person had been honest all of this could've been avoided but it's too late. Larry says it's not. He wants Catlin and Sally to prepare themselves for this and they must be found.

Catlin and Sally. In bed. In Ireland. Sounding Rather drowsy throughout. There are no phones says Catlin. They're happy [if drowsily so].

Mac's ordered Rachel to come to dinner. Geoffrey opposed him. Rachel said she didn't like being ordered around. He said it wasn't an order but a request. Are you coming, Rachel? She hesitated but went. Geoffrey said he'd be there if things got a little stuffy.

Wallingford's really touting the Northwoods Inn for Felicia's benefit. Raving about the chandeliers. Stop with the chandeliers she said. He switched to the music. They referred to Mac and Rachel as a happy couple.

Rachel and Mac quarreled about dancing with Geoffrey. GEOFFREY is a lounge lizard said Mac. She said he wasn't to order her around. The waiter came and asked if they wanted the usual. Mac said that was fine. Rachel belligerently said she didn't want the usual she wanted the Beef Wellington. Mac told her it was the usual. I'll have lobster she countered.

Catlin and Sally. Still in bed. Still in Ireland. Still sounding rather drowsy. Sally reminded him he'd told Sean he'd have a midnight drink with him. Catlin would far rather stay put. He's sure Sean will understand. Rustling.

Peter said Sally would be devastated no matter when so they might as well wait it out and let them be happy for a bit. Larry said he loved Sally too but they had to consider Brittany. Larry wants some sort of a clue as to where they might be. Peter has no idea. Jamie bounded in. Larry left. Jamie told Peter he'd canceled the premier issue of Nouvelle. Peter took fits. Jamie said it simply wasn't ready. Partly because Peter'd been away. And they should wait for Sally. Peter insinuated that it was a personal grudge or power play. Jamie denied it. I believe him.

Clarice told MJ about Catlin's wife and little boy and Zane. Larry came in and was annoyed at her. He doesn't want anyone to know with Catlin in the dark. MJ promised not to tell and left. Larry apologized to Clarice for snapping at her. She suggested he check out the cabin.

Wallingford raved about the wine and the menu and the salad. Felicia accused him of having something up his sleeve. WHAT'S GOING ON? Said she.

Larry poked around the cabin. He found a bit of paper in a book and pocketed the Plains Motel pen. He inspected the bit of paper. "Cong?" said Larry perplexedly. He doesn't have a clue. Presumably it's where they are.

Catlin and Sally pulled themselves together sufficiently to get dressed and go downstairs. A man [who may have had a mustache; I wasn't looking too closely] accused Catlin of being vaguely Irish. Catlin honestly doesn't know. (He doesn't know his father, peggoor sweggeet.) The man said everyone was, even "The missus" (viz. Sally). She said if she hadn't been she was now. (They're in Cong, in the county of Mayo.) a toast was proposed. Apparently they hadn't left their room for three days. (They must have. Escaped through the window or something. You couldn't've kept Catlin in a Majorcan hotel if you tried and they DID.) There is a man playing a concertina. Sally commented it sounded rather Spanish so we were told about the armada and pirates (although the wave of beards was neglected). Fond embrace.

Wallingford: What could be going on, Felicia? Felicia: Oh, come on. Fantastic, fabulous, wonderful -- that's what's going on. You haven't stopped raving and gushing since you got here. Wally: well, I told you, I was looking forward to this evening. I-I'm really having a good time. Felicia: why is it I don't buy that? Wally: because you're cranky and hungry. Felicia: I'M NOT CRANKY. Wally: well, you're hungry. He drew her attention to the wonderful brie with raspberries en croute. She was fascinated.

Mac apologized to Rachel. He eventually broached the subject of therapy. She told him he could see a psychiatrist if HE wanted and stomped out.

Felicia apologized for being suspicious. He forgave her. Then Geoffrey came and pulled up a chair. Felicia: Hello. Geoffrey: Hi. Felicia: Gee, how nice of you to join us. Who are you? Geoffrey: Geoffrey. Felicia: Geoffrey. Well, Geoffrey, old boy, as you can see, this is a Private Party. Geoffrey: Easy, sweetheart. Felicia: I really don't appreciate being called sweetheart, and I especially hate it when it's from someone I don't know. Geoffrey:. When you said you had a beautiful lady who was going to buy this place, you were right. THIS is a beautiful lady. THE LOOK ON FELICIA'S FACE WAS INDESCRIBABLE. Wallingford tried to salvage the conversation. Geoffrey was obnoxious. He said $100,000 for the whole shebang. [I think he's been drinking too much. He called her baby.] Felicia was incredulous. That's far below its value. Wallingford advised her to go ahead for Grant's sake. She was talked into it just about.

Larry wants a computer search of all airline tickets issued to Catlin Ewing. He asked MJ what Cong meant to her. In the old country she said. He didn't follow that but she explained thoroughly. He decided to check it out. "I'd do anything to find those kids. "

Sean [?] asked Catlin and Sally where they intended to go from there. They said they were happy there. He said it was beautiful BUT there was such crowd ... he offered them a cottage all to themselves. "Castle O'Hara" on the bay. They accepted joyfully.

She who hesitates is lost Felicia said Wally. She's concerned about taking advantage of Geoffrey. Geoffrey returned. He was brought a phone call (presumably to speed up the deal). Felicia nabbed it as soon as he hung up. She wrote him a check for $10,000. Geoffrey started to sing "Look at me. I'm as helpless as a kitten up a tree. Not knowing my right hand from my left. "

Jamie dropped by the police station to see MJ. She was pleased. A lot of kissing and messages. He asked her to come home with him. But she's too busy. He told her about Nouvelle. He's a little cross that she can't but it's a culmination of the rotten day.

Mac yelled at Rachel for walking out on him. He said they were going to talk if he had to tie her in that chair to do it. DUMB JERK. She said she had nothing to say to him. He told her a psychiatrist would be a good idea. He wants his wife back. She got upset. He raved about how insensitive she was. She said he resented sleeping in the guest room. A LOT OF YELLING. She went to bed after throwing a vase at him.

Geoffrey and Felicia signed things. Geoffrey said it had certainly been a business doing pleasure with her (and we said Catlin was drunk. Actually Catlin SOUNDED drunker in manner but Geoffrey's actual dialogue is the drunken bit) and tottered off. Felicia and Wally had champagne. Toasted each other and his vocabulary. She's afraid it's not legal. Geoffrey on the phone saying he just unloaded it. It's been CONDEMNED. Felicia and Wallingford exulted. They noticed Mac and Rachel had gone but it didn't perturb them long. They're dancing.

Jamie show up at the Corys'. Mac thinks he's going about this the wrong way. He thinks he should back off and make her fall in love with him again.

Rachel sulked because Mac called her a spoiled brat but she actually enjoyed the battle. "You have a good arm, Rachel."

MJ told her uncle Patrick she'd call him back. He's going to check out O'Hara's pub in Cong. (Vast quantities of McKinnons live nearby in Heathford.)

Catlin and Sally are deliriously happy. (These people are getting quite good at sounding giddily drowsy (or is it drowsily giddy?).) Sally can't wait to see the cottage. Catlin seems to get away with bloody murder merely by maintaining that they're in Ireland. He pointed out the cottage was not nomadic and they could wait (i.e. they're already in a room with a bed so why travel?) He says they have all the time in the world.

I'd like to see Catlin go off his chump and rave about having taken Sally to Ireland under false pretenses, thus providing Sally with an ideal opportunity to yell at him not to be a blithering idiot.

YOU ALL DID LOVE HIM ONCE NOT WITHOUT CAUSE.

Larry would have to ask MJ McKinnon Irishwoman at large who just happens to know all about the idiot place.

What if Catlin's father were Donna's boy's father?

It wasn't that they'd been MARRIED three days [although they may well have been], just that they hadn't surfaced. NOT THAT I BELIEVE THAT STORY, MIND.

MJ's Uncle Patrick could be a Callahan.
