ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

January 6, 1988

Cheryl and Julie Ann hated the way they photographed. Donna arrived waving brochures about Japan. Cass dashed in and up the stairs with barely a word for anyone.

Amanda came to drop off her article on Nicole. Mac summoned Sam.

Jason arrived at the auction. He bid $150,000. No one had a higher bid until Rachel walked in with $160,000. [110 acres, incidentally.] Jason bid some more. Rachel went to $190,000 but Jason, having hesitated briefly, got it for $200,000.

Donna told Cass how much she admired his fortitude. Cass said she'd never caught him wallowing. She reminded him he had friends and the business. They talked business. He got half an egg salad sandwich from her and told her she was a good broad. She was pleased. He phoned Paris.

Mitch found Felicia had gone to KBAY. He confided to John that he'd asked Felicia to marry him, but she hadn't said anything yet. He could tell from John's description of her behaviour earlier that she was trying not to think about it. Darn liberated women, said John.

Mac praised Sam highly and offered him a job in Paris. Sam was thrilled. He said it was a lot to think about and said he'd give him his answer in a few days.

When Sam came out of Mac's office, Amanda dispersed hastily. Sam collected Mitch and headed off for a serious lunch chat.

Rachel congratulated Jason perfunctorily. She left. He approached the auctioneer.

Cheryl and Julie Ann found a photo they didn't hate. They went back to their real jobs. Donna told Nicole Cass was fine. Her spirits were irrepressible. Nicole told her to stop playing games with Michael. Cass dashed through and approved the photo. Nicole was afraid he wasn't well. Helene the fabric supplier arrived. Cass told her if she could guarantee fabric overnight they'd drop the agreement with her competitor.

Sam told Mitch about the job offer. It's great, but what about the baby? He thinks the Corys think they can buy anything.

Jason visited with John at the bar in Tops. John told him he wasn't crazy about tending bar. Jason advised him to get out of it. The 20% down payment on the farm is a bit much for him. $20,000 too much. Enter That Old Carrot. Jason approached him and told him to admit it bothered him that he'd bought the farm. That Old Carrot told him he'd never liked him. He used to be the Loves' horse trainer. Jason told him he reminded him of a man who was hiding something. That Old Carrot told him to stay away from him and left. Jason looked thoughtful.

Mitch pointed out that it was good business sense for Mac to send Sam to Paris. Harris has always been a dream of Sam's, but his kid ... He thought about Amanda telling him she was pregnant. Mitch advised him to think before acting.

Donna accused Nicole of liking Cass. Nicole seemed to think Helene was too friendly with Cass. Donna felt her suspicions had been confirmed.

Nicole lurked outside the door and burst in when she heard a suggestive conversation going on inside the room in which Helene and Cass were discussing business. She threw her steno pad at Cass and stomped out. Helene locked the door behind her.

Sam returned to Brava and said he had to see Mac urgently. He wouldn't listen to Amanda. She heard him mention the Paris offer to Mac. She stared as Mac closed the door. Sam accused Mac of trying to get rid of him. He told him he couldn't be bought and walked out.

That Old Carrot was jocular, attempting to needle John about Donna. John mentioned in passing that the divorce was final.

Cass pulled away when Helene made a pass at him.

Nicole sulked. She decided to take the afternoon off and disappeared as Cass and Helene came downstairs. Cass apologized for thinking only of fabric. Helene left gracefully. Cass was surprised at himself for turning down a beautiful woman.
