Maisie adores Dave. Cheryl was not terribly thrilled when Scott put his arms about her. She told him he had given up on Bernie too easily. Bernie phoned her and suggested they get together without her boyfriend for a drink. She agreed.
Vince feels better. He told Mary he was going to shower and leave and prove that Reginald had framed him.
Someone phoned Reginald to say the merger was off because of something in the paper. He snatched the paper from Peter and found the headline "Peter Love Questioned in Murder of Prostitute." he demanded an explanation.
Mitch and Michael went to the Pig Whistle to meet Sandra. She tried to back out of helping them. Michael assured her that helping them was the right thing and nothing would happen to her or to Paul. She agreed to phone Paul. They gave her a vast sum of money.
Reginald yelled at Peter. Nicole stopped him when she felt he was getting too cruel. Reginald told Peter that he could come to him if ever he was in trouble. [Why is it that Peters name being linked to the death of a prostitute has more weight with the business community than Reginald's being linked with the deaths of several fine upstanding citizens? Why didn't the Bravo exposé put people off?]
Mary told Vince she didn't want him to leave. He accused her of thinking he'd be a threat to her beloved Reginald. She told him it was pouring rain and she'd get very upset if anything happened to him. He agreed to stay a few days. She was relieved. She left for Mary's Place.
Michael hid in the phone booth when Paul arrived.
Mary admitted to Ada that she had come to know Vince lately and understood why she'd married him. Scott showed her the Peter news and said he was going to go over to inspect Reginald who is not to be upset. Cheryl was suspiciously glad to see him go. Bernie found and asked her to meet him at the Pig Whistle. She was only too eager.
Bernie thinks Cheryl is a rich dollface.
Donna dimly recalled Reginald trying to keep her from Michael. She screamed for Michael.
Peter hesitated to tell Reginald why he didn't confide in him. That Old Carrot rebuked him gently and said he didn't want him to be afraid of him, adding that sometimes he felt he [Peter] didn't really love him. Peter protested but Scott arrived and Reginald forgot all about him. Reginald started in about Mary. He's disappointed she didn't come to him in his time of trial.
Jamie lapsed into idiocy. He described his dreamboat to Ada. He imagined her coming into Mary's Place in a trench coat, removing the trench coat, and kissing him passionately.
Maisie sang in the kitchen. A gloved hand spied on her.
Sandra told Paul that he had to take Donna back or they'd both be in a lot of trouble. He took the $1000 and was convinced. Michael kissed her cheek in thanks and left with Mitch to follow Paul. They followed him to the edge of nowhere.
Donna begged to use the phone to talk to Michael. The nurse told her the phone lines were down. Donna said that Michael was her husband. [that's all she knows. I could have sworn she didn't remember the phone number.]
Maisie told Scott she'd over heard Cheryl saying something about the Pig Whistle on the phone. The gloved hand lurked.
Cheryl was very nice to Bernie. If she thought that saying something would make him more amenable, she said it. She told him Scott wasn't really her boyfriend. He said he could show her more fun than she'd ever dreamed of. She asked to talk first.
Mary returned home. Vince was in the kitchen so she thought he'd gone. He came out and got her to try something which she pronounced delicious [VINCE CAN'T COOK.]. He showed her a beautifully set table. She yelled at him because she'd been so upset when she thought he was gone. He was gratified. He told her this was a thank you dinner before he goes. Her favorite dinner is still coq au vin. He put on music and told her about their first dance. He was very nervous.
Reginald told Nicole he missed Mary. She advised him to go to her. He decided to go. Peter stomped around. Nicole took him aside and advised him not to give That Old Carrot so many opportunities to hurt him by constantly begging for his approval. She told him she was sorry for him because he wanted to be another carrot.
Donna imagined Michael coming to get her and promising nothing would ever keep her from him again.
Mitch and Michael drove along. Paul's car overturned.
Cheryl asked Bernie about her father. He told her that real men were different from boys. He told her she was coming on to him. She denied it. He told her she was coming with him to a little motel.
Scott drove along.
Vince and Mary danced. Vince continued with the story of the first dance and how it led to marriage. She told him she had come to know him over the last couple of days and it was really nice. He asked what she thought of him. They seemed about to kiss when Reginald bashed on the door.
Mitch and Michael pulled Paul from his car and covered him with a blanket. Michael begged Paul to tell him where he'd taken Donna. Paul just looked as if he were dying.
