ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

October 2, 1987

Barbara knocked on Nicole's door. Cass and Nicole kept her out so she wouldn't see the wedding dress Nicole's designing, but they couldn't fool her when Sophie walked by with a huge bolt of crêpe de chine. They found out Felicia was home. They rushed to see who would get to her first.

Felicia renewed her acquaintance with Mitch. Barbara came and greeted her in Tops, but Cass dashed up and stole her away. Enter Jamie and Lisa. He spotted Victoria drinking with Tony and took her aside to reprimand her and ask her what was wrong. She said she thought Donna and John were taking advantage of Michael's absence.

John asked Donna why she was there and refused to let her leave without telling him. She said she'd come to find out if he was leaving. He seemed disappointed and said he was. She offered to let him pack. He begged her to stay. She said she couldn't. She asked why he was running away again if he still cared (about his family).

Michael phoned home because of Donna's messages and told Bridget to tell Donna he was on his way home if she turned up.

Felicia was upset to hear that she had a contract with a snake. Cass advised her to honour the contract and leave the rest to him. She smacked him around a little. Barbara decided not to wait for Felicia. Victoria decided to go down to the docks. Jamie warned her not to do anything rash. Victoria thanked him and left. Tony noticed she was gone and let Jamie know he didn't appreciate it. Cass told Felicia he had her best interests at heart. Nicole went back to work.

John said he thought she wanted him to go. She said she did but she didn't. She's confused. She's beginning to believe the old theme that Michael wants her to be something she's not, tame as opposed to wild. She equates That Old Carrot and Michael. She wants someone to love who she really is. He said someone did and felt her face.

Nicole told Lisa she was beautiful and lucky to have Jamie. She begged her to agree to model the wedding dress. Lisa turned her down. Nicole didn't give up hope she'd change her mind. Felicia assured Cass he'd crack. He went downstairs. Felicia approached Mitch. He suggested a little Quiet Time. But scrapped it when Matthew arrived in a pair of sunglasses. He asked him to attend his father-son soccer game. The glasses were concealing a black eye.

Michael arrived home. He told Peter he and That Old Carrot wouldn't like prison very much. (They had blown up his factory. Peter was fascinated.) Peter hinted that there was more trouble at home.

Donna told John she thought he knew how she felt. She said she had felt like a hurricane with him before and he still made her feel that way. He talked about the eye of the hurricane. She kissed his palm. He kissed her lips. He pulled her hair out and they kissed with furious passion.

Victoria came down to the docks.

Matthew had been in a fight because someone insulted his jailbird father. Mitch apologised for inflicting his past on him. Matthew assured him he was proud of him. Mitch appreciated it but warned him not to fight unless he absolutely had to. Exit Matthew.

Peter told Michael where Donna had gone. He said she'd wanted to stop John from leaving. Michael went to take over. Peter smiled.

Donna and John got naked in bed. Then he called it off.

Victoria peered through a porthole.

Nicole rules out marriage because she can't cook. She has her heart set on Lisa.

Lisa thought about her wedding to Gollum. Jamie suggested that she model and get over it. Felicia gave Mitch a gift to correspond to her totem pole. The Eiffel Tower. He took it as a pledge of her interest in engineering.

Victoria saw Donna and John naked in bed together, so she didn't really have to LEAP to get to the wrong conclusion. I don't know if it was as wrong a conclusion as all that anyway. There was pretty serious intent. John told Donna he had used to dream that she would come to him and say she'd wanted him all along and everything would be all right. Victoria wept outside. John told Donna she had to figure out what she wanted or else this would be no better than a repeat of That Night twenty years ago. (Does he always know best? When to rape her and when not to, that he didn't rape her even though she said NO and it would be wrong to make love to her when she says yes?) He said he needed a life of his own and should leave to get it. She said she'd go home and patch things up with Michael. He asked if that was what she wanted. She smiled bravely and said it was where she belonged. He kissed her on the cheek.

Victoria turned away in torment.

Mitch: I'm off to find a safe place for my Eiffel Tower. Felicia: Well, would you like a little help? Mitch: With what? Felicia: I'm inviting myself to your room, you idiot. You're supposed to jump up and down for JOY and not question my motives. He kissed her. Jamie convinced Lisa to wear the wedding dress. Felicia overheard and rushed over to congratulate them. She smudged lipstick all over Jamie.

Michael drove along in the fog.

Donna heard Victoria's departing footsteps. John got up and put some clothes on to investigate.

Au sujet de la Tour Eiffel:

If you have been having 'sexual problems' lately, you have probably been too embarrassed to talk about them, except to six or seven close friends at a public restaurant, or in a department store buying porch furniture. . .
There is nothing you can say to make him feel better. There is nothing he can say to make you feel better. When he says, 'This has nothing to do with you,' you 1) don't believe him or 2) wonder why on earth he invited you to be a witness at this debacle in the first place.
Unfortunately, men have all sorts of unrealistic role models surrounding them: guns, smokestacks, the Chicago Water Tower, the Chrysler Building, [the Eiffel Tower], Twinkies, etc. These structures never lose interest in remaining rigid. A man feels you would wish the same of him.

Men: An Owner's Manual, Stephanie Brush

I am not for a moment suggesting that Mitch and Felicia are having Sexual Problems, but I do think they're well-prepared.
