Des Taylor loved his wife, Wynne, so every Christmas he would try to find a special gift for her. He wanted her to wear smooth, silky pyjamas for when they cuddled together on cold winter nights, but Wynne prefered thick fuzzy pyjamas (made of wincyette) that would keep her warm on their own. Des also liked to write little poems (he called them "doggerel") to accompany his gifts. Here is some of that doggerel:

Wincyette

Pyjamas - wincyette,
You particularly asked me to get.
Not for you nylon flimsies
Nor "see through" nighties
Just plain wincyette.

Warm and cosy, wincyette,
I can't understand - just yet,
Why you don't prefer
To go to bed all bare
Instead of wearing - wincyette.

For winter, wincyette.
When summer comes, I'll bet,
You'll not want these pyjamas
And you'll wish that at Christmas
I hadn't bought - wincyette.

A long suffering husband

I think Wynne is wearing wincyette pyjamas in the picture above.
