This one is Rich's attempt to follow in his father's footsteps. It's also a tribute to Wynne's many talents and her love of birds. I think the gift was a bird feeder.

For Mum (It's for the birds)

Architect
A summer boredom turned to work
A rapid sketch, a plan
A few old boards, a bit of luck
A birdhouse. (It's for the birds)

Humanitarian
A pile of crusts from here and there
A log from Mr. "Wild"
A feeder from which to serve the fare
A winter feast. (It's for the birds)

Artist
A piece of pine ("Not knotty, please")
A shaving off, just so
A hundred tiny strokes, from these
A duck. (It's for the birds)

Girl Guide
A group of giggling, gawking girls
A stack of nature books,
A lecture, while around you whirls
A nature study group. (They're for the birds)

Christmas
A present sitting under the tree
A box of perfect squareness
One thing's for sure, I hope you see
It's for the birds!

Lots of love
Rich
