So I went out to the youth hostel which is in Pendennis Castle! A huge barracks building is now the hostel with the keep in front & the sea on either side. I walked around Falmouth that evening but it's mainly a tourist trap. Cornwall (what I saw of it) is as beautiful & English as the Cotswolds & just as hilly. I thought the smaller towns were just marvelous but I wish I could have stayed longer. Today I took the train from Falmouth to Salisbury; not what I had planned. It was 10:00 am by the time I got to the travel agent's & unfortunately the train to Weymouth has to go via Bristol or Salisbury, so it takes a long time. I would not have been able to catch the ferry until tomorrow afternoon & I would never have been able to see Jersey & get to Russell's in time.

Since Salisbury was on my planned route anyway, I came here a day or so early. While on the train, I decided to go via Stonehenge to Winchester tomorrow, go down to the Isle of Wight via Southampton on the 22nd, get back to Portsmouth on the 23rd then take two days to get to Russell's. I should be there on the afternoon of the 25th & if I call British Airways immediately, I hopefully will get a flight on the thirtieth. they said five days in advance, so I hope I'll get a flight. I'm mailing this letter & film tomorrow but I may arrive first. I'll keep any more films & bring them with me. How many is this now? 8? I'll keep writing a page or so each day a a diary. I hope you've kept all these letters; I won't know what I've done otherwise! Going to see the cathedral this evening.

See you soon
(or I've already seen you)
Luv, Rich
