Torngat Mountains

Deb wanted to climb the high points of Quebec and Newfoundland this summer. It was really handy that they are the same mountain. Due to the expense, logistics, and commitment, it took a bit of coaxing to get a team together, but in the
end three of us; myself, Deb, and Paul found ourselves deep in the heart of Nunavik, for a week and a half.
The trip was a fantastic success, largely due to luck when it came to the weather, and the rest of it due to hard
training. As the climb leader for the mountain this was my biggest mountaineering accomplishment to date.
Maps of this region are limited. The NTS map is still provisional, and not even in colour. Very few of the features
have names, so take all names in this trip report with a grain of salt, as most of them are simply descriptive titles we
made up along the way.
