Another nice day, where we spent the first three hours hiking along the coast trail with mostly mellow terrain. A few
scrambles were found along the rocky sections, but for the most part we were in the woods going up a couple of small
hills with nice lookouts. We met one south bound trail runner who was attempting the entire trail in a single day. We
wished him luck and told him that he had better get moving instead of chin wagging with us since it was now
mid-morning.
A suspended erratic
Garbage or part of the "backcountry museum"?
At Gargantua Bay we stopped at the car to restock our bags with food for the next two days. We had lunch on the beach
at one of the many campsites along here and then spent the next while hiking a tree tunnel for the eight kilometers
to Warp Bay. Along the Gargantua river there was a pretty waterfall which provided an exploration and photography
break. One more kilometer of hiking down the river brought us to Warp Bay where there are five campsites. The first
one at the mouth of the river was stunningly beautiful and unoccupied, so we figured there was no reason to explore
the others.
