Thursday, September 20 - Millville, NB - 58 km
Today started out cloudy and then turned sunny and very hot. The knee hurt like crazy this morning and then gradually
got better as I went. I took many breaks. Progress was very slow. It took me four hours to roll past 50 km. More
annoying dogs for the first part, and then all of a sudden they started to be tied dogs which were much more pleasant to
deal with. Most of today was through wilderness, with the occasional farmland covering the rolling hills. There was
no traffic. If it wasn't for the constant throb of my knee, I would really be enjoying this. However I was not having
much fun. I was moving much too slowly, and thoughts of quiting entered my mind again. After Millville, I lost most of
my motivation. I was in a wilderness area, so I followed an ATV trail into the woods and found a place to camp. Set up
the tent and dozed in the hot sunlight for a couple of hours. Tomorrow's goal is Fredericton. I am going to quit
there.
This stream provided the water for the day
I had lunch in this nice meadow.
