At 03:00 I was again awoken up to commotion outside the tent. Was it the air force again? No this sound was loud
splashing... must be the navy! I got out of the tent and went to the river shore where I could hear the splashing
continuing downstream for a while, but it was too dark to see anything.
Realizing that the invasion force was probably just another moose or two, I crawled back into my sleeping bag to
await the dawn.
Deb and I cooked up a group meal for everyone with various leftovers which turned out to be quite decadent, consisting
of powdered egg and cheese frittata topped with a few slices of bacon and a side of blueberry pancakes.
A bit of rain struck just as we were finishing the camp teardown, but it did not end up amounting to anything.
In two hours of paddling we had covered twenty five kilometers and found the air force, vacating their campsite.
Wow! They are ahead of schedule, as they still have two more nights to go before Carmacks. We pulled into the now
deserted site and took our mid-morning break.
Big scenery today

Break at Twin Creeks

Not much further down the river we passed Little Salmon river and village, where we found a beautiful campsite on the
far side. As the cadets were downstream, and we were now well within striking distance of Carmacks tomorrow, we
pulled on shore for our final night. Several other groups passed by, but none stopped, so we had the place to
ourselves. Marc and I attempted a hike in the afternoon, but did not get too far before a brief burst of rain
made us scamper back to zip up the tents. Cleared up almost immediately after, which allowed Duncan to lead us in a
sing-along with his lovely voice and strumming on the guitar.

A rare shot of the whole group
