Jamie was nice to Victoria. She fretted. Jamie told her Mikey was probably with very good people. Vicky said she'd failed him. Jamie comforted her.
Amanda breathed. Mitch and Felicia joined her. Amanda said it just had to be good news.
Dr Abbott told Sam not to be upset if his vision was blurred. He removed the last layer of bandage. Sam opened his eyes apprehensively. He saw Felicia, Mitch, and Amanda come in. And all the people rejoiced. Dr Abbott told Sam to take it easy.
Vicky asked Jamie if he honestly thought she was qualified to look after Mikey. He told her she had been wonderful with Mikey. Vicky assured him she hadn't tried to use Mikey to get to him. They played pessimist and optimist. Guess which was which? Jamie told Vicky she sold herself short. He insisted on driving her home.
Mac told Rachel to stop telling him not to sell. She was mad. She left him to it. Drew arrived. He wanted to talk about staff cuts. He told Mac that if he stayed on as a consultant he would be privy to what was happening. [Mac: well, thank you again — although privy suggests I might be in the outhouse.] Drew left unresolved.
Despite Vicky's protests Jamie stayed with her awhile. He put her feet up and put classical music on the radio. He even went so far as to light candles. She talked about Mikey. He said she'd make a great mother someday. He stroked her hair. She said she didn't know what she would have done without him. He kissed her. She cooperated.
Mac was thrilled to hear Sam was fine. He told Mitch and Felicia he was considering letting Cory go. Mitch told him he wouldn't like to see it happen. Mac went in to see Sam with Rachel and Amanda. Amanda took him outside and told him he shouldn't be considering selling Cory. She's pregnant with a very obvious cushion.
Lisa sat in Tops.
Victoria and Jamie did something very blurry and naked and horizontal and slow motion. Then they got dressed and she refused wine. She told him she knew he didn't love her and she didn't want him to feel obligated. He was reluctant to leave. She made him go. He kissed her goodbye. She blew out the candles and suddenly grabbed her purse and ran out.
Lisa was delighted to hear about Sam. She very calmly told Felicia it was over with Jamie. Felicia said that didn't mean he'd go right to Vicky. Lisa said she would be at Amanda's baby shower. Drew came up and ordered a cognac. Mitch overheard him make a phone call to Doc Aspen. He joined Felicia and Lisa. Felicia told him who Drew was. Mitch wandered off. He remembered [in black and white] having white collar crooks pointed out to him in prison. The guy he was with told him that all the white collar crooks were in the employ of someone called Golden Boy. [Drew had called himself Golden Boy on the phone. This is kind of weird, because Mitch had taken notice at the mention of Doc Aspen, before the mention of Golden Boy.] Vicky came up. Lisa came over and when Vicky did not respond to her with hostility behaved fairly civilly. She did ask how Jamie was. Vicky advised her to ask Jamie.
Jamie didn't tell his family he'd had sex with Vicky. Mac said he realized he'd never hear the end of it if he sold Cory. And all the people rejoiced.
Vicky thanked Lisa for helping with Mikey. Lisa told her she knew she loved Mikey and she was sorry she'd criticized her. Vicky blamed herself for losing Mikey. Lisa admitted she probably would have done the same thing when Amanda and Sam needed help. Talks broke down, however, when Lisa told Vicky she wouldn't fight her for Jamie. Vicky took offence and stomped out. Lisa was perplexed. Mitch stared at Drew. He told Felicia he thought he knew something about Drew. Felicia couldn't make him say any more. Mitch tried to follow Drew when he left but the elevator doors closed before he could catch up. Felicia lured Mitch down to her room.
Jamie left Sam's room. Lisa stood on the terrace. Vicky returned home and picked up a toy truck. "Anything For You" played over these images. They do a lot of this sort of thing now that there's a writers' strike on. Vicky thought about Jamie.
