Sam became agitated when Amanda said she might leave the room. He told her he had dreamed the baby was being born and he couldn't see anything. Amanda tried to reassure him.
Donna read about Frame Construction's getting the hospital bid. She showed Michael the paper. They were both delighted. Michael attacked Donna gleefully.
Vicky and Mikey burbled into Mary's office. He looked unhappy.
Amanda told her parents to go to work. They protested. She agreed to allow them to stay in the waiting room. Mac went to phone Zack.
Drew gave Nicole tickets to Phantom of the Opera. She agreed to go with him.
Mary had Ronnie remove Mikey from the room. She started to tell Vicky something about the child welfare board. Vicky, rather desperately, claimed to have sorted all that out. Mary regretfully told her that the board had decided she couldn't keep Mikey. Vicky protested that she had left him alone only for a few minutes and for a good reason. Mary was sorry but powerless to do anything. Vicky said Mikey would be upset if moved and insisted she was a responsible guardian. She wept. Mary summoned Ronnie and Mikey. Vicky held Mikey tightly. When Ronnie tried to lead him away he turned back to Vicky. Ronnie had to pry him loose. A weeping Vicky declared she hadn't given up.
John dropped by Michael and Donna's. They congratulated him. Donna fled to see Nicole. Michael and John chatted. When John said he had to go to a meeting at the hospital, Michael asked if he wanted to borrow a suit. John saw no need for one. Michael tried to offer him a tie.
Adam found Jamie in the hospital and told him he was sorry he'd meddled in his life. He said he'd come to say goodbye. Jamie said "send me a postcard" and walked away.
Victoria ran to Michael and, sobbing, told him what had happened with Mikey. She asked for his help. He said he was sorry but there was nothing he could do. She stomped out.
Mac and Rachel stumbled across Adam. He told them he was going away for a while. Rachel left the men alone. Adam told Mac he was going after MJ. Mac told him he was doing the right thing. Adam said he'd be back.
Donna and Nicole came back to the suite. Nicole thought about Drew. Donna gave Nicole a present she'd bought for her on her honeymoon. A camisole or something. Drew was Nicole's first love.
Michael dropped in on Mary. He told her Victoria had been very upset. He asked if there was anything he could do. Mary told him that in the board's eyes Victoria herself was an abandoned child. Michael felt frustrated.
Mac tried to set up a makeshift office in the waiting room with Zack. Rachel took him aside and advised him to go to his real office. Ronnie found Zack afloat in a sea of papers and told him he couldn't treat the waiting room like his own personal office. He thought she was being unreasonable. Mac took a lot of convincing but Rachel managed to get him to pack up Zack and go. Ronnie looked on.
Donna gave Nicole some sexy perfume. Donna told her she and Michael were blissfully happy and had enough children.
Michael resisted Mary's suggestion that he and Donna take Mikey. Mary told him to talk about his feelings. He admitted he would like to have Mikey but it would upset Donna. Ronnie brought Mikey in to see Michael briefly. When Mary and Ronnie took Mikey away Michael called after them to wait.
A tearful Vicky went looking for Jamie among his plants. He wasn't there. She thought about Mikey. Jamie found her sobbing. When she saw him she hugged him tightly.
Drew told Mac there wouldn't have to be a hostile takeover if he would lie down and die. He said Matt could remain as a consultant and he'd send Cass to Chicago. He told him more or less it was time to retire.
Ronnie and Dr Abbott made Amanda leave the room.
Jamie comforted Vicky. He was very stern when she said she wished she were dead. She told him about Mikey. He offered to vouch for her but she said it was too late.
Rachel found Mac pacing in his office. He admitted he was considering giving up. Rachel quoted Felicia "if it's comfort you seek, life may not be the best place for you." [That sounds like someone who doesn't even begin to consider suicide as an option.] Mac didn't appreciate it. He said he owed his family more time. Rachel protested.
Dr Abbott had Ronnie darken the room before he removed the bandage.
Amanda loitered in the waiting room.
The doctor cut the bandage.
Amanda waited.
