ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

April 30, 1985

Victoria wanted to keep the bracelet. Jake managed to convince her it was too dangerous to keep it. She called Bridget and Donna picked up the extension.

Catlin called Brittany and said he wanted to see Brittany at 5 in her motel room. She was ecstatic. Zane told her not to get her hopes up.

Sally asked Catlin what he intended to say to Brittany. He doesn't know but he definitely intends to stick with wifefinal. He's not sure Britt understood just how much Sally means to him and she's got to get on with her own life. He thought p'raps that sounded cruel but Sally assured him he was virtually incapable of cruelty [of course a while back when he said Peter could take care of himself she called him callous] and made arrangements to meet him at Smiley's for lunch. When he kissed her it was like he was actually paying attention [unusual for him].

Zane kept telling Brittany Catlin's life was different now. She said she wouldn't give up.

Victoria pretended to be Marley. She fooled Donna [who noticed only a slight huskiness of voice]. She found it most thrilling. Jake said it was too dangerous. She's after her share of the trust fund.

Catlin confided his qualms about Brittany in Larry. He said he'd loved her and Evan but that was past and now he had Sally. He wants to divorce Brittany but he feels guilty for putting her and Evan on a boat alone and so on. Larry told him natural disasters were not his fault and as long as Britt did not blame him it didn't matter. Larry's advice was to choose the wife he loved best [and in a vague sort of way most recently] and divorce Brittany. Catlin's squeamish about breaking vows. He said perhaps he should wait but Larry told him not to put off the inevitable.

Brittany thought about Catlin promising undying devotion and eternal care.

Sally waited for Peter. Liz came to chat with her. We heard all about Sally's determination to be just and fair and strong and supportive of Catlin's decision. She thinks she's pretty safe after all they've been through. She says all he needs to know is she trusts him to make the right decision. Aunt Liz told her she was compassionate and wise.

Everyone sat around feeling Otis hiccup. Names for the baby: Brunhilde says Marley. Middle name of Matilda with that says Nancy. Tom said it wouldn't go with Todd. Nancy said it should go with MacGillicuddy. Perry suggested Perry. Tom left for work. She discouraged Carter from meeting her at work. Carter thinks she's weird. Marley doesn't. Nancy and Perry canoodling.

Jake and Bridget told Victoria she was taking too many risks. Jake left. Bridget said she'd give the bracelet back. Victoria is impatient. She took fits that Marley'd been kept instead of her. Bridget told her life was unfair she wished she could tell her why but not now.

Nancy and Perry are going on a picnic. Nancy opts for either the Riviera or Tahiti. Lots of cheery banter. They're waiting for Marley in the parking lot. Perry couldn't get the car started. Lot of cheery banter about P. Hutchins, master mechanic.

Brittany is very happy in anticipation of Catlin's visit. She and Zane are in Smiley's. He's talking about the marina. Sally came in and showed her ring to Maisie and looked happy. Britt just looked at her. She went to talk to her. Zane tried to restrain her but she went ahead. Sally looked up from her table and saw her standing there. "You're Brittany ... I've seen your picture. "

Nancy's planning to tan. Perry is under the car. Marley's bringing food. Nancy's raving about Tom Selleck. She says Marley looks washed out. She told about her nightmare. Jake appeared. giggles and cheery banter. Marley told him about the dream. She went back to work. Jake force-fed Nancy french fries until Perry came dashing out and said: "Just what do you think you're doing?"

Zane came up to try to take Brittany back to their table and remained to interpret when she wouldn't leave. She said Sally was very pretty. Sally said she thought she [Brittany] was too. She said she was very sorry about the baby. And looking around strangely she confessed she had little boy. Brittany went weird and asked if 'twas Catlin's. No. No said Sally strangely and emphatically. Revolted [?] and she said she and Catlin cared about her and wanted to help her. Brittany signed [spitefully] that Catlin wanted to see her today. Zane tried to take her away but Sally made him relay what she said. He did and she said she knew and she and Catlin had discussed it this morning. Britt looked unthrilled. Enter Catlin.

Nancy tried to keep it peaceful. She dashed off. Perry told Jake to keep his hands off. "I gave her a french fry" in a weird voice. Perry dredged up the records room. Jake said he'd been checking up on a friend. And he found suspicious people a real drag. Perry said "Young ladies my eye is upon you" or something to that effect.

Tom has some revoltingly slimy customers. A leg man and another sort. The bartender's too busy to fix them.

Carter's going to check out Tom's place of work. He's worried.

Jake told Victoria about Marley's dream. And his run in with Hutchins. [Kill Perry.] she advised him to play nice with Perry.

Donna and Marley are going to play tennis. Marley found her bracelet in the closet; she was terribly pleased. I suspect Donna of appropriating Marley's trust fund for Country Club expenses.

Catlin came up to them. Zane said he'd take Britt away but Sally prodded Catlin to talk to her now. He objected. She said she'd leave [not a threat to go forever]. He said he'd take Britt for a walk.

Marley knew Bridget wouldn't take anything.

Tom suggested her customers not drink anymore. They were gropingish, sort of. Carter appeared. He may or may not have bashed someone.

Catlin told Brittany he'd been thinking a lot about their wonderful life together but he'd changed now and he had to ask her for a divorce. A divorce he demonstrated with a chopping motion. He says he can't go back. And he has Sally now. She thrashed about and pulled away from him as he [with an increasing note of desperation in his voice] tried to explain himself. Sound of Brittany being hit by a car.
