Sally was pursued by Ross. Catlin was lying in wait near the edge of the roof and they succeeded in getting a grip on him for a brief instant. Ross then fell off the castle to his death.
Cass and Cecile and Kathleen are all in hospital together. They're telling "What I'd like to see happen to Emily Benson" stories. (I like Cecile's. "I wonder if she's wanted for any crimes in some little African country where they still burn people at the stake.") Cass wants to go back to Bay City with Cecile and kick everyone out of her house and settle in in style. Cecile and Kathleen started arguing. Cass took Cecile's part although she keeps telling him not to make plans for their future.
Emily's nowhere to be found. She's boarding a plane for Frankfurt in disguise.
When Mark is released he will be allowed to recuperate at the Matthews house. Kevin wants Sally to come home. Sally called much to everyone's delight. She promised Kevin a great present. Catlin told Kevin to hold down the fort until he returned. And he told Alice he wouldn't let Sally take any more risks. He asked her to call Larry. They hung up. AND ALL THE PEOPLE REJOICED.
Catlin and Sally are quite happily alone in the hotel (wrapped in fond embrace, from the sound of it). They got a call from the hospital about Cass, Cecile and Kathleen. Sally was willing to go see them immediately but Catlin convinced her they would be all right and they [he and she] could afford to wait a while and have some time to themselves. And so they played that music they will insist on playing, with, like, VOCALS and everything. This is momentous stuff. I will now reproduce the lyrics to the best of my ability for the record.
I close my eyes and see you there
But when will you be really here?
I want to tell you
How much I want you
[vair' loud rustling drowning out the lyrics for a bit]
I see another time
When I am am yours and you are mine
So just hold onto
The love that's in you
While we're apart you're living in my heart
When will we kiss that lovers' kiss
Sharing all those things we missed
Love never felt like this before
[something I couldn't understand]
With you I'm home again
[something] my life once more
When will we leave this world behind
When there's no more wasted time
When there's love that we can share
When will I look into your eyes
[AND I CAN'T UNDERSTAND THIS BIT AT ALL but I think "fantasize" entered into it]
[something] when you are there
Come to me. When. Tell me when. When. When. When."
That was a duet, folks. I left out a lot of syllables they managed to fit into those "whens" and the "oohoos".
Felicia's on the warpath. She confronted Tony Jones about the beating up of Wallingford. She told him to stuff his swordfish. She's magnificent. (Even more magnificent that Perry was.) Tony said if Cass can't pay up they'll be forced to TERMINATE. O dear.
Lily's with Wallingofrd. He's telling her of his thrilling career as a mannequin repairman. He feels inadequate. He feels unheroic. He wishes he had a damsel in distress (my words, not his). Lily's trying to cheer him up.
Brian told Peter of the Majorcan goings-on. Peter's kicking himself for being so blind. They have figured out that Emily was probably under someone's direction.
Alice told Mark that everyone's all right. She's happy. Sally's happy. Mark's head's buzzing again.
Catlin and Sally are visiting the invalids. A policeman arrived with the news that Emily is on her way to Frankfurt. They're all disgusted. The policeman also told them the Wells ranch is devoid of all signs of human life or hossflesh. They too have come to the conclusion that Peter & Brian reached. Cecile launched into another one of her speeches about how much she admires Catlin & Sally's love. She pretty much wished them all happiness. At that, Catlin said "Sally," and Sally said, "Yeah. Excuse me." and I guess they wandered off to some corner of the room to just generally be wrapped in an audible fond embrace while Cass tols Cecile of more of his plans for their future. She put him off. This almost precipitated them into a 3-cornered argument with Kathleen but Catlin saw fit to interrupt. Catlin: So, we'll see you back in the states. Kathleen: No, wait a minute. We'll see you on the plane, won't we? I mean the flight leaves soon. Catlin:Um, we're not going back right away. Cass: Why not? Sally: PAPERWORK. Catlin: Delays -- Sally: Just -- problems. Things that have to be taken care of. Catlin: Things we have to do. Cass: Oh, no, no, no, that's silly. Just go to the American consulate. They'll -- Kathleen: CASS. Cass. Um. Cass saw the light and shut up. Kathleen told them they deserved a holiday anyway. Catlin agreed most wholeheartedly that they deserved every minute of it and lapsed into kissing Sally again to the accompaniment of Cass whistling aimlessly in a very "Who, me? I'm not here" sort of fashion.
Felicia wants to see justice done to Tony the Tuna. She also wants to warn Cass but she doesn't know where he is. She suspects him of taking suntan lessons.
The invalids have been released. The policemen came, bearing bad tidings: Emily disembarked at Zurich, home of Swiss bank accounts.
Catlin says they're not staying at the hotel. It's a surprise where he's taking her though. She says he's bossy these days. He asked (most unseriously) if she liked it. She said no, it wasn't normal, but she'd put up with it for now. Even in the midst of this frenzied packing they find the time to pause and kiss frequently. Frankly I'm appalled. They checked out.
Mark is sarcasticking Peter out of his "I could kick myself for being so stupid and gullible" mood. "The sackcloth and ashes are in the closet," he said. "Use the whip at your own convenience."
Cecile wants to rest. Kathleen advised Cass to slow down because he's so sick. She reminded him of Tony Jones waiting for him. Cass didn't dismiss that exactly but it's not a priority on his list of concerns. He would have "helped Cecile rest" but she declined. She told him again not to plan. (I suspect she's fixing to run away.)
Catlin and Sally have reached their surprise destination. I can't identify it but Sally said "I never thought I'd see this place again." It sounds draußen. Sally's pleased no end. She said she loved him. Silence. The end. AND NOT A MUSEUM IN SIGHT.
