ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

March 29, 1985

Winthrop Publishing MADE MONEY. Felicia and Wallingford told Cass it was all because of Kathleen. Cass called Rachel to arrange to get another letter of recommendation. "Like taking candy from a baby," he said.

Alice checking on Rachel. Rachel says she's beginning to put things together.

Peter questioned Annie extensively about the telex.

Catlin showed up at the complex and offered to take Sally and Liz out to lunch. Liz said Sally would love to. As she left Liz reminded her of the telex. Sally said she'd do it later but Catlin said she should go ahead because he had all the time in the world. She took it. Sally: This is strange. Catlin: What's wrong? "Return delayed but I'm safe and sound. Happy wedding, Peter." Liz: What's so strange? Sally: Well, I mean, it's kind of cryptic, isn't it? Why would he send a telex? Why wouldn't he just call? Catlin: He's probably on a boat that doesn't have a ship to shore telephone. Sally: He's on a BOAT? Liz: Oh, I love it. Mac and Jamie are going to love it. Rachel's in hospital, we're launching a new magazine and PETER'S off on a cruise. Sally: No, I'm sure that's not what it is. Liz: How much publishing gets done on a boat? Sally: All right, Aunt Liz. Don't be so hard on Peter -- Liz: He just jetted off to Oregon for no real reason -- I checked. Catlin: Oregon? Where in Oregon? Liz: A town called Marin Bay -- that's another thing, Sally, it's about sixty miles from our mill there according to Kevin's atlas. Catlin, dear, is anything wrong? Catlin: No, nothing. Aunt Liz pointed out to Sally that she could be done for the day in about 1/2 an hour and Catlin's already finished and they can spend the afternoon at the cabin and she won't tell anyone where they are. Catlin rushed off to wait for her at the cabin. Liz is thrilled to utter death by Catlin. Not by Peter, however.

Peter told Annie she'd done the right thing. She's going to make him lift supplies and things. He said he'd do it only because she'd sent the telex. Get a move on, she said.

Zane's going to teach Brittany to polka. He's rowdy.

Jake's on the phone detailing his plans. Marley came up at his request. He asked a favour.

Felicia reminded Cass that Rachel doesn't like him. She said he should call Kathleen. Cass left telling Wallingford not to tell Felicia where he'd gone. Wally told her. (Under threats.) A reporter called to ask if Felicia slept in the nude.

Alice keeps saying Rachel's fine physically. Rachel keeps saying she's mentally a mess. She wants to go home. Alice told her she can't have her own way all the time.

Marley's going to the McKinnons' with Jake to pick out pictures to send to Ben. MJ told Bridget about the cousin coming over. Bridget likes the McKinnons. Jake left the room. Marley put the videotape thing on but Jake returned and got her out of the way before the room bit.

Catlin still won't say where the honeymoon is to be. He told Sally Marin Bay was where THE BODIES were taken. He doesn't want to talk about it them whatever.

Zane dancing with Brittany. He seems to be enjoying himself. She's thinking about Josh ("Hey." "Hey what?" "No fair sleeping.") The perfection of their life together.

Rachel made Joyce get her some business magazines. Cass rushed up to Joyce and presented himself as an old friend. He went in to Rachel and did the same.

Bridget names her plants. She's looking for a job. Jake and Marley arrived. Marley hates every picture of herself. Bridget was asked to stay and help them sort. Reg'lar family gathering.

Felicia's phone interview ended. She recalled Cass and left for the hospital.

Cass told Rachel she'd promised to give him a letter of recommendation for Dee. He told her she liked Dee and Rachel said she'd sign the letter. Cass thanked her. Felicia dashed in and asked what he thought he was doing. She made Cass explain. Rachel asked if Dee were nice. Everyone said she was so Rachel signed the letter anyway. Felicia told her she looked wonderful. Rachel asked if she dressed like Felicia. Felicia said not but Rachel said they'd have to go shopping together sometime. Felicia was pleased. Alice came in and told them Rachel's visitors were limited so they left. (Felicia stayed behind to tell Rachel Mac was wonderful. She had to explain that Mac was her publisher. Rachel asked suspiciously whether she'd ever been engaged to him or anything. Felicia assured her she hadn't and that she [Rachel] would fall in love with Mac all over again.) Rachel said she'd enjoyed the visit. She was annoyed that Alice had thrown them out.

Zane turned off the music. He said accusingly she couldn't stop thinking about HIM and went to chop firewood. She put the music back on. (I guess she's not deaf.)

Catlin waxed vaguely poetic regarding Sally's smile.* He practiced carrying her over the threshold. She sounded somewhat delirious.

Peter figures Sally should've broken it off with Catlin by now. He wishes he were there. He kept saying things about Zane having the hots for Brittany. Annie exploded and said he LOVED her and Peter's plans wouldn't do any good. He pricked up his ears but she tried to change the subject. He asked point blank if she'd sent the correct message.

Discussion of the McKinnon sainted mother. MJ left. Bridget asked Marley to come up to her room because Marley hates the way she looks in pictures. Bridget said Ben was a very lucky young man. Jake said to himself Jake was the one who would be lucky.

Felicia told Cass he shouldn't've bothered Rachel. She also reminded him of Kathleen's resignation. He said it had been her own decision. Felicia left. Wally told Cass off for not making the most of requited love. Leading us to believe he's in love with Felicia but she loves him not. He stomped out. Cass said he didn't want Kathleen to get away.

Catlin wanted something to do. Sally made suggestions but he rejected them until she expressed a desire to be made comfortable in bed.

Annie was forced to admit she hadn't told Sally to call off the wedding. She said she wasn't going to. Peter cursed and smashed things.

Bridget gave Marley a shawl. Jake said she looked beautiful. She went on ahead. Jake told Bridget this would work.

* Editor's idle thought:
When Cynthia smiles the skies are blue
The world takes on a roseate hue
Birds in the garden trill and sing
And Joy is king of everything
When Cynthia smiles.

Does it strike no one as peculiar that Blaine should rush off before her beloved brother's wedding? Or at least without saying good-bye?
