ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

March 28, 1985

Marley had a nightmare about a woman's voice calling her from a closet. Nancy came in and found her in a panic.

Felicia and Wallingford speculated on the likelihood of Cass' having successfully patched it up with Kathleen. They think they're both acting like jerks. Cass came in in a baddish temper. Dee on the other hand is sprightly and cheerful.

Jamie told Liz o'er the phone he'd be late. He's in bed with MJ. Vast quantities of females at the complex (viz. Sister Sally and Kathleen) desire speech with him. Liz is afraid he's coming down with something. Liz is not concerned about Kathleen or Peter. Sally is. Liz said (with something approaching relish) that Peter might soon find himself on the dole (actually she still thinks the Loves are rich so she didn't express it that way.) Liz (like just about everyone else concerned) is determined that Catlin and Sally will get married this time.

Peter found a gun. He hopes it will aid him in persuading Annie to turn this tub around. Annie came down to get him breakfast and the ingrate brandished his weapon and announced he intended to be in Bay City by next Friday.

Jamie called MJ a surprising woman. Liz called again. He encouraged her to forge his initials. It's MJ's day off. Liz called again. MJ's attacking his neck and this causes Liz to be concerned for his health. He answered her query and hung up. He won't take the phone off the hook in case something important comes up. Liz called again. MJ answered and rendered Liz speechless. She hung up flustered. MJ and Jamie are well satisfied.

Marley told Nancy about the dream. Nancy checked the closet. Nothing there. Marley says she's been having this nightmare for a couple of months now and it seems so real. Nancy wants to analyse it. She claimed it was Marley's repressed self trying to get out. Nancy told Marley about sneaking into Jake's room (placing her under oath. SQUEALS. Beg pardon but I know no 17 year olds like this.)

Annie ignored Peter and set about making scrambled eggs. She told him the gun wasn't loaded. She asked him why he wanted the wedding stopped. He told her he'd pay her double what Zane was. She said 'twas a favour. He tried to turn her against Zane by saying her boyfriend had another lady. She told him Zane's her brother. She shoved eggs at him. He's cross.

Cass is short with Dee. She's all sweetness and light and eager to begin. Felicia asked him where he'd slept. He tried to avoid the question but eventually admitted he'd stayed on the couch in his penthouse. He stomped out. Wallingford said virtuously they should stay out of his mess.

Marley listened to Nancy's ADVENTURE her jaw down to her knees and with the occasional squeal of laughter. Nancy said things about Jake's muscles rippling. Marley sighed with rapture. She was thrilled to hear of Perry's sweetness in extolling Nancy's virtues to Jake. ("An unsolicited testimonial," she breathed.) Nancy was bullied into confessing that she'd seen Jake preparing to shower. Marley shrieked at the thrillingness of it all. Nancy tried to be terribly nonchalant saying she sees hordes of naked men at the hospital (I'm not surprised). Marley asked why she'd been in his room in the first place. Nancy said Jake was weird and besides she was a snoop. She told her she'd found an envelope of pictures of just Marley. Marley intends to ask him why he had them.

Carter's under a lot of pressure. Marriage is fine but the rest of his life is the pits. Tom's sick AGAIN. He told Jake she's pregnant. Jake smiled a really annoying smile and I wanted to bash him. Carter had some deep insight into the weirdness of pregnant women. Scrambled hormones entered into it. He pawed through Jake's records much to Jake's panic. He left. Jake found Marley's photos in the wrong spot among them. Suspicious.

Cass offered to take Dee to Smiley's for lunch. He left. (Felicia: Oooh, he's hurting, isn't he. Wally: Sure makes him surly. Felicia: Yeah. Well that's 'cause he won't admit it. He and Kathleen are both alike in that. Being in love makes 'em mean as snakes. Wally: And it shouldn't be that way. Felicia: Well it's because they don't play by the rules. Wally: You know Felicia I'm a little surprised you haven't gone to see Kathleen just to find out what's going on. Felicia: We said we wouldn't interfere, remember? Wallingford: Oh, right. They're two grown-up people -- chronologically speaking, at least, -- and we shouldn't meddle. Felicia: Right. I don't think we should get involved. I really don't. Wallingford: Definitely. Definitely. So where are you going? Felicia: To see Kathleen, of course. Somebody's got to do something.)

Liz having learned her lesson refused to pester Jamie any more even for her beloved niece. It comforted Kathleen a little to know it wasn't just to thwart her. Liz fled for yogurt. Kathleen asked about the wedding. Sally said (and I quote) "I think this time it's going to take.") Kathleen asked about the secret honeymoon plans. They're still secret but Sally doesn't much seem to care where they go. "Anyplace would be wonderful for us." Sally hopes Kathleen and Cass will be there (not on the honeymoon, at the ceremony). Kathleen said she would be she couldn't answer for Cass and fled. (You know Sally was making a fuss about not knowing what to take? IT DOESN'T MUCH MATTER. If all else fails they'll have Catlin's bag back there.)

Marley asked Jake about the pictures. He concocted several stories until he hit upon one that satisfied her. He said he was forming a scrapbook for cousin Ben. He told her Ben is practically allergic to writing. She was cheered. He had a book with castles in it. She picked a picture of one in France near the Swiss border near her Swiss school. After she left he tore it out and tacked it up on the wall.

Kathleen told Felicia to stay out of it. Felicia pleaded Cass' case. Kathleen refused to tell her anything. Felicia left. Kathleen called the penthouse. (During this she said, "No, correction, I never loved Cass Winthrop. I only loved the man I started to think he was but then I found out that he is exactly the man who I thought he was in the first place.")

Cass denied thinking about Kathleen.

Carter was pointlessly on the phone to Tom.

Nancy doesn't think she can face Jake ever again. Enter Jake.

Peter told Annie he could lose his job. She doesn't really care. He told her all about Zane's girlfriend being married to the man who intended to marry his friend. He asked her to send Sally a telex urging her to postpone her wedding.

Sally needs Jamie and/or Peter. Liz can't get either of them. She says Peter's irresponsible and probably frolicking somewhere. Sally's worried. Jamie arrived. Liz shoved a stack of messages at him. He and Sally went into his office. Liz looked satisfied.

Nancy apologized defensively. He said he had no secrets. She guesses she believes him.

Dee thinks it's her fault Cass is upset. He said not and took her hand to comfort her as Kathleen walked in.

Wally told Felicia Kathleen had called and he'd directed her to Smiley's. They're optimistic.

Jake and Nancy and Marley are concerned about Carter's workload.

Cass saw Kathleen and went to her. He asked her to join him. She gave him her resignation as president of Winthrop.

Cass and Dee went back to the penthouse. She was kind. He called her a good kid. She said she wasn't a kid.

Kathleen had Warren thoughts. SEX WITH CASS. She pulled off the necklace he'd given her.

Annie told Peter she'd sent the telex. "Return delayed. Urgent you postpone wedding. Peter."

Sally received the telex and began to open it. I HOPE ANNIE SENT THE WRONG ONE. She sounded devious when he said you did the right thing she said I know. Sinister? I hope so.

I fail to see how Sally would ruin her life if she married Catlin. She'd be in clothes and linen for the rest of her life. But if Peter says it's so it must be so. SARAH'S CREED.
