Amanda smiled repulsively. She and Sam are blissfully happy. She asked what they were going to tell her parents about their plans. They are in eternal love.
Michael told Vicky he was sick of the way she was treating her mother. Donna said she had reformed. Vicky sneered about following her example.
Jason looked at old newspaper articles about Elizabeth's death. Mary appeared at his door. She suggested he stop endangering the lives of the residents of Mary's Place. He said he would move out. She had intended him to go to the police. He said That Old Carrot must have cops on the payroll. NOT ADAM, said she. He said Adam was a Cory. He told her she had been there the night of the murder and he'd been badgering her to jog her memory. She got a headache. She suggested he talk to Michael, who had resources and couldn't possibly be on the Carrot roll.
Michael left Vicky and Donna alone. Vicky maintained she didn't need Donna. Donna accused her of being afraid that she would take her father from her. Vicky denied it. Donna told her she was afraid of being alone.
Sam and Amanda don't want to go home. He denied wanting to avoid her parents. They're going to do a little shopping. She rubbed her ring finger in anticipation.
Jason kept saying he wanted to work alone. Mary decided to go and tell Michael herself. Jason followed her downstairs. Mary saw the guy she'd seen coming out of Jason's room sitting alone at a table. She went out the front door. Jason asked Vince if he could go out through the kitchen. When Vince gave permission he went into the kitchen and watched the guy hurry out the front door. He confronted him in the alley with a knife.
Donna accused Vicky of daring people to love her. Lisa phoned and arranged to talk to Vicky about Jamie. Vicky told Donna she didn't think they should interfere with each other. Donna said she would do anything if they could be close. Vicky asked if she could borrow the ski lodge. Donna was willing.
Sam and Amanda have too many coats for people in New York on an emergency abortion jaunt.
There was a fight in Mary's alley. The chain link fence there is oddly unstable — obviously not real. Vince heard the commotion and had the cops called. There was one in for lunch. The guy was arrested. Jason let on it was a simple mugging. Vince was suspicious. Jason refused to tell him anything.
Sam and Amanda looked at rings. Sam admired a jewelry box with a brass plate for engraving. $1500. Amanda insisted it was too much money. Sam insisted on being allowed to go shopping for art supplies alone.
Mary found Donna in Michael's apartment. She declined to wait. She wished Donna luck in making Michael's life happy again. Mary left. Michael returned soon after. Donna told Michael Mary wanted him to call her in the morning and Vicky and Lisa had gone to the ski lodge. Michael felt that Donna had done too much to get them alone together.
Lisa accused Vicky of pursuing Jamie. Vicky said that she owed her her life and she wouldn't try to steal her boyfriend. Lisa apologized. Vicky invited her and Jamie to come skiing with her. Lisa accepted, but Jamie can't make it. Vicky hid her chagrin. She waylaid a doctor and asked him to cover Jamie's shift so he could come with Lisa.
Jason told Vince to back off. Vince suggested he move out. He told him he would hold him responsible if anything happened to Mary. Mary appeared.
Amanda was disappointed when Sam returned with paintbrushes. He soon produced a gift, warning her not to say anything about money. She opened the box. There was the jewelry box, with the engraved message AMANDA CORY WILL YOU MARRY ME? He said she had to say yes because he wouldn't be able to return it.
Mary told Jason she was going to talk to Michael first thing in the morning. He went to pack. Vince asked Mary what was up. She said she couldn't tell him. He yelled at her. She got a headache and saw him in black and white before collapsing.
Michael suggested that Donna might not be very subtle. The dusting was too much. She accused him of being suspicious. She threw flowers on the floor and spilled the martinis. He grabbed her. She struggled. A passionate kiss ensued.
Amanda said, "you jerk." She had been prepared to understand if he didn't want to get married yet. He made her open the box. There was a ring.
Vince apologized for losing his temper. He told Mary he cared about her. He gave her to Ada to fill her with hot tea. An old picture of Vince, recently hung over the bar, caught Mary's attention. She thought she actually recognized the tie.
Michael lost his shirt and control of his lips. He swept Donna up into his arms.
Sam put the ring on Amanda's finger. She said, "Sam Fowler, looks like you've got yourself a wife." Ick.
