Donna delivered a huge bunch of flowers to Michael. He asked if she'd won the Kentucky Derby.
Vicky asked Jamie when they would go to New York again. Lisa overheard.
Nicole walked in on Cass shaving in the bathroom. He offered to let her read the finished preface. She beamed. They wondered about Mitch and Felicia.
Felicia gazed at her ring. Mitch kept her from answering the phone.
Nicole was moved to tears by Cass' wonderful preface. Cass paced, having failed to get through to Mitch and Felicia. He thanked Nicole for telling him to say goodbye to Kathleen and letting him get on with the preface.
Donna thought Michael could have been a little more glad to see her. He was concerned when she said she had a checkup but she assured him everything was fine. He told her he was busy when she asked him to come along. He responded to her new tactic of backing off when told politely to do so and said they could have lunch or dinner someday.
Jamie explained that he and Vicky had been in New York together coincidentally. Lisa has an interview with Cap'n Delaney today. Jamie kissed her. Vicky left them alone. Jamie was beeped.
Felicia is warming to this engagement thing. Mitch suggested they soften the fashion blow to Nicole by announcing their engagement. Felicia said Wally too would be thrilled to hear of it.
Nicole gazed at mama's watch. She commented on the fact that the inscription was a series of numbers, like a code. Cass examined it. Nicole was 14 when her mother died. She misses her. [That would make Nicole 31, since Mary said that That Old Carrot had abducted her six months later. RIGHT.] Cass comforted her. Enter Felicia.
Vicky made sure Lisa knew Jamie had been dancing until eleven o'clock last night. Vicky has a bit of a cold. Lisa looked about to show claws. Vicky told her her and Jamie's friendship meant a lot to her. Lisa took it up with Jamie. He was amused she was jealous. She threatened to throw plates with a cute cop. Dawn came to talk to Jamie about her bill. Chad appeared and said it was taken care of.
Donna congratulated Felicia and Mitch with exuberance. Cass and Nicole came downstairs. Donna fled. Felicia said they had good news and bad news.
Dawn was hard to reassure, but Chad calmed her down. She went to fill her prescription for AZT. Jamie told Chad he would help look for funds to pay Dawn's bill. Chad said Dawn was lucky to have him. Vicky tried to avoid Donna.
The engagement news went over well. The bad news was about Rex Allingham. Mitch and Felicia explained that Rex had paid Jacques Dupannier to include Nicole in the Monte Carlo show, in order to make Nicole's murder more interesting. Some posthumous accomplice followed them.
Donna tried to chat with Vicky. Vicky tried to get away. Donna felt the baby move and tried to generate discussion on the subject. Vicky dragged herself away.
Cheryl welcomed Dawn home. Dawn declined to have lunch with her so she could make her eleven o'clock class. She rushed off. Cheryl and Chad talked. He rushed out when she told him not to blame himself. Dawn came down and found Mr. Whitney, her faculty advisor, looking for her.
Cass determined to go to France. Nicole included herself.
Mr. Whitney told Don she shouldn't come to school. Too many people have reacted badly to AIDS on campus. She wept at their ignorance. He asked for a couple of days to resolve the situation. She is forbidden to attend classes.
Vicky returned home. She told Michael that Donna was trying to use the baby to get to them. He said he was sure the baby was his. Vicky said so what. Michael said her resentment was not good. She stomped out. Michael caught up with her and stopped her.
Lisa is to be a community affairs representative at the police station. Jamie congratulated her. Dawn told Cheryl nothing could keep her out of school and fled.
Nicole wondered if That Old Carrot could be plotting.
Vicky freaked out about [having been] given away. Michael reminded her Donna wasn't to blame and this baby was a chance to bring the family together. Enter Donna.
