ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

March 27, 1985

Nancy fled back to the closet. Jake [wearing a towel] let Perry in.

Sally called Catlin to say she couldn't get to the cabin until later. He's a bit disgruntled because she's worried about Peter missing in Oregon. She didn't pick up on it. He didn't make a fuss. Not a BIG fuss, at any rate. Kevin is in Catlin's charge. Sitting with him Catlin lolloped off down memory lane thinking about his little boy and wife until Kevin snapped him out of it demanding to go hiking.

Peter has not been shaved.

Cass was very loud. Obstreperous. I LOVE YOU, KATHLEEN, AND I DEMAND AN EXPLANATION. Jamie had Liz call security and ordered Cass banned from Cory property. Kathleen refused to talk to him. Cass was carted away.

Perry hired Jake to videotape places for rent to encourage investors. Perry extolled Nancy's virtues much to her (eavesdropping) thrill. Jake supplemented this. Perry left. Nancy tried to sneak out but Jake caught her.

Jamie told Kathleen she's likely better off Winthropless. She agreed flatly. He offered her the rest of the day off but she declined. He has Liz tracking Peter. He's annoyed with the man.

Peter has come to somewhat. ("Anybody here? What is this place? Oh no, a boat. Why did it have to be a boat? I hate boats." If you recall he was almost married to Cecile on a yacht but he was poisoned just before . . . the poison was in his seasick pills.)

Wallingford suggested Felicia buy Plains Iowa a punk disco. They told Dee she's pretty. She wants Cass to return. They made her show them the sketch she was doing of a rose. They're her favourite flower (somebody gave them to her once she said). Cass stomped in yelling.

Perry's looking for Nancy. Marley's upset because she hasn't heard from Ben for a couple of weeks. Perry told her there are other guys. Jake f'r instance. She likes Jake.

Jake got mad at Nancy. She was afraid of him. He denied VERY LOUDLY any involvement with any sort of drugs. She believed him and left. He checked his video tape to see what she'd seen. Luckily she'd seen only herself and not the crucial room bit.

Dee's bounding about getting folk hot drinks. Eager to help Cass but he's brooding. She left. Felicia showed Cass the rose. He was impressed. He told them about Dee's Valentine's roses via Kathleen. Felicia asked him what's up. He told them of his trip to the complex trying to make himself seem rational but they know Cass and correctly construed his statements. (Felicia: You humiliated her in front of everyone bellowing and acting like a jerk? Cass: I did no such thing. And I never bellow. Felicia: Oh, no, of course not, I mean how could you they threw you out because you're such a good guy. Cass: Oh, come on, you know Jamie. He overreacts to everything. Felicia: Jamie's a nice guy. Cass: PSHAW. Felicia: Pshaw? Cass: Pshaw. Felicia: Pshaw. He never says that unless he's really botched it.) Dee returned with beverages. Cass was appreciative. She offered him the sketch. She left to finish it.

MJ told Kathleen Cass doesn't know what's going on and he should be told. Kathleen told her about the scene. She's humiliated. MJ says at least it shows he cares. Liz hasn't been able to find Peter. MJ suggested she call Marley at Smiley's. Liz was mildly surprised to hear she was WORKING but she's too wild with Peter to give it much thought.

Peter hastily dropped to the floor when someone walked in. He grabbed the ankles and attacked what he thought to be a man. ( Why, I don't know. Looked bloody feminine to me. And of course she was but Peter's strange.) A largish man called Kwan came in and made him release her. She told him she was doing Zane a favour in taking him to San Diego. ("Why did it have to be a boat . . . why couldn't it have been a train, or a helicopter?") They'll arrive on April 8. He said that was too late. She won't help him send a message over the transmitter.

Marley knows not where Peter is. Liz confided (vaguely) her suspicions in the McKinnon girls. Kathleen left. MJ asked Liz help in surprising Jamie. Forging his signature.

Felicia: Well, you have to give him credit. He's one heck of a pacer. Wallingford: Best I've seen. Real staying power. Cass: You're right about one thing, Wallingford. It is time to dig in. Felicia: Youd didn't say that, did you? Dig in? Wallingford: Uh-uh (meaning yes). Cass: It doesn't end here. I mean, I am going to get to the bottom of her infantile behaviour. Felicia: You didn't say infantile behaviour? Wallingford: No, no. That's his. Cass: NO WOMAN humiliates Cass Winthrop. Without good reason. Felicia looked inquiringly at Wally. Wally: I didn't say that, Felicia. I swear that wasn't me. Cass: She owes me an explanation. Felicia: Oh, sure, that makes perfect sense. Wallingford: You know, Cass, maybe I was a little enthusiastic in my pep talk. Maybe I over-emphasized the one approach. Felicia: Yeah, maybe we should try another approach. A more subtle approach. Cass: Oh, forget it. You can't be SUBTLE with Kathleen. Felicia: Why not? Cass: Because she's Kathleen McKinnon. Felicia: Oh, right, oh, excuse me, I did overlook that fact. Cass: Yes, you did. She's stubborn, she's obstinate, and there's no subtlety with her. It's fire with fire. I'll see you two later. Felicia: Where are you going? Cass: Out. Felicia: Listen, don't do anything stupid. Cass: Hey, give me a little credit, huh? Felicia: He's about to do something -- Wallingford & Felicia: -- stupid.

Kevin and Catlin are being happily silly wrestling together. Liz and Sally arrived. Kevin wanted to tell Aunt Liz and Sally all about it. Aunt Liz proclaimed herself an eager audience and rushed him out (her purpose in life seeming to be to make sure Catlin and Sally are left alone as often as possible). Catlin waxed enthusiastic about Kevin to Sally. Sally asked how old Evan would've been. Three. She's worried about Peter. He doesn't like it. She noticed this time but they steered the conversation out of such dangerous waters and discussed starting a bran' new life together.

Perry found Nancy in Smiley's and suggested they go sit with Jake much to her discomfiture. She was wildly nervous and wriggly. He told her about Jake's job. He wants Jake to photograph Nancy for him. Jake would be very happy to. Nancy wanted to leave so Perry took her home.

Marley called Donna to see if she'd heard from Peter. She hadn't. She's worried and confided in Jake. He says Peter'll be fine. She thanked him. He asked after Ben. She admitted he'd not written and she thought he'd found someone else. Jake said if so he was a fool.

Jamie returned to his office to find the lights low and MJ with a candlelight dinner (she had Liz forge his signature to pay for it). He was pleased. They drank champagne. She told him ever since things happened to Rachel she couldn't stop thinking about him and wanting to be with him supporting him. He said she meant a lot to him. She said she thought she loved him. He came around the table and enfolded her in his embraced and "showered her upturned face with kisses" well not exactly but close enough.

Jake on the phone. He says he needs more pictures of Donna but she's not back yet. He says Marley's a sweet girl and he likes her and IT'S GETTING DONE, ALL RIGHT?

Catlin asked Sally to stay the night but she said she couldn't. He was put out. She claimed she thought she should see to Kevin but when pressed admitted this wife-and-son bit took some getting used to and she needed time. He offered the rest of his life.

Kathleen got into her car and was frightened out of her wits when Cass leaped up in the back seat demanding to be told what was going on. She was mum so he kissed her. (At this juncture I would'a' bopped him one but she just sort of went limp.)

The woman gave Peter seasick pills which he almost refused recalling his near-fatal wedding. He told her she'd got to turn the tub around. She said she couldn't. Zane wants him to go to San Diego. Zane gets Peter in San Diego April 8 as requested. Peter explained he had a friend who was making a whacking big mistake getting married April 5 but she was not swayed. Zane's word is law. She still refuses to help him send a message on a teletype thingy. She says Zane's a great guy. Peter offered to pay her but she won't. He then looked (to me) on the verge of kissing her into submission but he didn't and she wouldn't. He's determined to stop the wedding.

Sally: You understand about my not staying, don't you? Catlin: Sure. You go home and take care of my favourite guy. Sally: Goodnight. (Kissing.) Catlin: Hold on -- one more kiss. (Given and received.) I can't wait to get married. Start our new life together. Free from the past. Sally: Yeah. Both our pasts.

Dee finished her sketch. For Cass.

Kathleen told Cass maybe they should talk but elsewhere. She tried to start the car. Cass got out to check. She locked the doors and started it up. He yelled at her. She told him to leave her alone.

Jake's towel was most indecent. It covered nothing above the waist or below about mid-thigh. It also missed a heck of a lot of one of his thighs above that.

Catlin's thoughts about the wife and infant consisted of cuddling a baby and planning the poor devil's recreation for the next twenty-odd years. He told him his daddy loved him so much at which point Brittany bounded in and said mommy did too and mommy loved daddy and she loved them for always and always and always and always always always always.

I appreciate this Jake bit. Who knows of the room though? Who cares? Not Catlin or Sally of Perry or Marley or Donna or Peter or Alice. Not enough to cause Jake. Therefore either Carl or a stranger. But what stranger knows?
