Cheryl is not having a fun life. She misses Scott. She feels a big distance between them. Ada asked why. Enter Trish, looking for Scott.
Peter found Scott rummaging through papers.
Marry decided Vince was delirious and tried to phone Jamie. Vince struggled up to stop her. They argued. He said he was fine. She assured him Jamie wouldn't tell anyone. She said she'd get him some medicine. He made her promise she wouldn't return with a doctor.
Trish bugged Cheryl a little.
Scott told Peter he was on an errand for That Old Carrot. Peter refused to believe him because he is the real true business son. Scott told him everyone was right about him and left.
Trish decided to stick around. Mary arrived as Cheryl fled. She explained the Vince situation to Ada. She's afraid he has pneumonia. Enter Jamie. Ada made-up to him shamelessly and got rid of Mary. She described to Jamie a female friend with Vince's symptoms. She hates doctors. She wants him to cough up penicillin for someone he's never seen. He said he couldn't. What if it isn't pneumonia? What if the penicillin disagrees with her? She sent him into the dining room and asked Mary to come into the kitchen. Scott perceived Trish when his mother left him.
Peter worked on the merger. He claims to have his father's blessing. Enter Nicole. She asked about the blessing business. He assured her everything was all right. Wonderful, even. He regrets her alliance with Michael.
Jamie went to make a phone call. Ada decided there was nothing for it but to steal some penicillin from his bag. She did it.
Trish tried to convince Scott to spend the day with her. He said he had to take business papers to his father. He said he'd call her. He asked Ada where Cheryl was. She told him she was upset. He said he'd leave a note since he had to go see his father. He left. Ada warned Mary to be careful with the penicillin. Mary ran into Captain Delaney on her way out. Ada told him she didn't like Vince and Mary wasn't close to him and they knew nothing. Captain Delaney was baffled but hugely entertained. He likes to fight with Ada.
Nicole and Peter quarreled. Today she's against Reginald. She says he doesn't deserve their loyalty. Peter told her Donna's illness wasn't Reginald's fault. Exit Peter. Jamie arrived. Nicole poured out her troubles to him. He said he thought he could help.
Vince muttered about Mary and his three daughters. [No Ben.] he struggled over to the phone.
Ada fed Captain Delaney and assured him she'd tell him anything she learned. Mary fled. Cheryl arrived. Mary told her she didn't think there was much going on with Trish and Scott. Cheryl answered the phone when Vince phoned. "Pops?" she said. Captain Delaney looked up. He ordered a trace. Vince told Cheryl he loved her. She worried because of his coughing. The line went dead. Captain Delaney found the phone lines cut. Ada behaved in a very suspicious manner, telling him off for the terrible vandalism. Cheryl worried about Pops being sick. Mary told her that he was all right. Cheryl begged her not to leave. Mary said she had to.
Jamie suggested hypnotising Bridget. Bridget freaked out.
Ada gave Cheryl Scott's note. Captain Delaney asked Cheryl if Vince had sounded as if he were calling long distance. She said he had. She read the note and rushed joyfully to the gazebo to meet the beloved.
Scott waited for Cheryl at the gazebo. Trish surprised him. He wasn't thrilled. She suggested they go to dinner and a movie. He refused. She tried to convince him. Enter Cheryl.
Jamie and Nicole tried to persuade Bridget to let herself be hypnotised. She was firm. She remembered something but Jamie and Nicole had left the room. She decided it hadn't been important. Jamie drifted off into one of his stupid daydreams again.
Mary yelled at Vince about the phone call. He said he wanted to talk to a nice voice for a change and demanded the medicine. She found out he wasn't allergic to penicillin and gave it to him.
Cheryl stopped dead. Scott tried to explain himself. He got rid of Trish. Cheryl yelled at Scott. He asked if something other than Patricia was disturbing her. She took off.
Jamie explained his fantasy bimbo* to Nicole. She accused him of having her in mind even when they were um er. He counterattacked and said she seemed to have had someone else in mind too then. He imagines meeting her. He said he was going to take a cold shower and go to the hospital.
Mary said she wanted to know about her children and herself. Vince gave her a hard time about adultery. He asked for more medicine. She refused to give it. He sent her to get water. I'm afraid he might have taken more on his own. Sounds like it. What an idiot. She poured orange juice. He left. He was gone when she returned. She flung the orange juice aside and pursued him. [He might not have taken more penicillin. I didn't see.]
