Tom and Carter found Chris in Smiley's. They told him Nancy was terribly happy all the time and a walking insanity trip for want of him.
Peter and Britt told Bridget the good news. A wedding tomorrow in the Love mansion at 4 PM. Britt didn't want him to call Donna.
Victoria dropped in on Jake. He's going to visit a nice guy millionaire acquaintance in Johnstown. He has high hopes of a loan. She offered to buy him breakfast. She was nice.
Tom told Chris about the jalousie windows. The Todds begged to be rescued from Nancy's windows. He promised to call her [even though her line is always busy]. Jake and Victoria appeared. Chris expressed interest in the arm. Neal was right behind their table.
Britt is convinced that Donna will put a stop to the wedding. Peter spoke French [sort of] and left a message for Donna to call. Peter kissed Britt and promised a belated honeymoon. He went to work. Britt maintained a charming seeing the man off pose until he was out of sight whereupon she told Bridget that the only way to manage would be to prevent Donna from finding anything out until the danger had passed.
Jake told his bike and tree story. Carter expressed surprise that the bike was unharmed. Jake took a muffin and thermos and fled as Neal told him to watch himself. Neal gave Victoria a friendly warning about wandering alone on roads in the dead of night. She chose to interpret it as a threat.
Tom told Chris not to do anything to jeopardize his medical career, and especially not to tell her about his bad behaviour. He went to call Nancy.
Neal told Clarice about yesterday's adventure.
Chris affected a strange Germanish accent and the name Wilbur Bremerman. He ordered a bunch of windows and then cancelled the order because she doesn't install them herself. He called her a nice little cookie. He laughed himself out of the accent and said he wanted to talk to her. He said he was on his way over.
Zane gave Britt a talking to. He asked if she'd told Peter the baby was Catlin's. She said she wasn't sure of that herself. He said he didn't believe it. She told him she was happy with things this way and asked him to be happy for her and to come to the wedding. He agreed.
Bridget ordered flowers. Britt heard her staving off the merchants and said from now on they'd have to keep Donna's spending in check. She asked Bridget to be her maid of honor. Enter Vic. When told the good news she asked if Donna knew yet.
Annie dropped in on Peter to say goodbye. She's going back to her boat. He told her he was marrying Britt tomorrow. She was mollified and a little upset. In fact she cried a little while congratulating him. They parted on friendly terms. Liz came in. Annie left when Peter told Liz he was marrying Britt. Liz said she had to tell him something about that woman. He said he was in love with Brittany and needed to know no more. Liz said she was manipulating him like she had Catlin. He told her Catlin was a Thing of the Past. Liz mentioned Sally's rotten homecoming surprise a few months back. Peter said he didn't want to discuss it. He got upset. She said she was sorry for him and left. He sat for a moment before rushing out.
Britt behaved in a hysterical fashion. Exit to buy a wedding dress. Victoria talked about Jake's dreams and said dreams didn't come true.
Chris arrived at Nancy's. Stilted conversation for a bit. She gave him leave to go first. He said he didn't want to be angry any more and said he realized she must feel dumb about upsetting Mrs. James. She got steamed that being considered a child and a "bubble-headed teenybopper" and told him there was no hope of their patching it up
Brittany and Rachel returned from shopping and discussed frugality. Mac is to be best man.
Peter returned home. Victoria congratulated him. Britt came in and Victoria discreetly removed herself. Peter said he wanted to talk about her and Catlin.
Chris returned to Smiley's. Clarice and Carter preached perseverance. Chris doubts it will do any good.
Nancy rushed to Rachel with her troubles. Rachel told her to be honest and calm with him. Enter Neal. Exit Rachel. He asked Nancy out to dinner. She accepted. His jaw dropped.
Peter told Britt what Liz had said. She said she was single-handedly trying to destroy her and had sent her on a wild goose chase all over town and said the wedding was over when it wasn't. Peter asked if anything had Happened. Britt denied it. She said she had accepted it was over when Evan died and Peter was her future unless he believed Liz over her. He caught her in his arms and gave her a real diamond ring. Great-grandmother Love's ring. Donna called.
Neal: come on Nance, tell me. Are you and Dr Chris on opposite ends of the stethoscope? Nancy: I guess you could say that. Neal: that puts a whole new light on things. Nancy: so where are you taking me, Neal? Neal: where am I taking you? To the sun — to the stars — to the moon — how about a hamburger joint in-between? Nancy: Neal, would you be serious? Neal: OK. Serious. Nancy: so should I dress? Neal: seriously? Nancy: Neal. Neal: where are we going, Nance? We're going upstairs. But you are going to your bedroom by yourself and I am going to mine alone. Nancy: what about our date? Neal: Nancy. One truth I've learned one cruel truth I've learned in the sea of life one great infallible truth — Nancy: I can't wait to hear this. Neal: a woman on the rebound is like a leopard without spots. Nancy: what's that supposed to mean? Neal: beats me. They aren't going out. Nancy dispersed. Neal called Fayez and said the intruder would be out of town for a bit. Security must be tighter.
Peter told Donna he was marrying Brittany tomorrow. She was speechless. Marley offered her congratulations. They're on their way. Britt figures they'll be in time to stop the wedding.
