Chris and Nancy have seen the cliff.
Catlin expressed his admiration ["it's real nice"]. Britt cocked her gun and suggested they get to work.
MJ is worried about Kathleen. Vince is on his way. The doctor asked why Cass for whom Kathleen calls constantly wasn't there.
Felicia paced up and down in the hospital worrying about Kathleen. Wally was reassuring about her but he spotted the gaggle of plainclothes policemen lurking about so he fears for Cass. They don't think he'd be that stupid but lo! Cass emerged from the elevator and stood behind a plant.
Nancy and Chris are exuberant. [I hate location. Not enough dialogue. Even Catlin and Sally were never this hard to interpret.] Chris the tour guide: "and here we have a rock." They set about running to the cliff. They sat down to eat and fed each other unidentifiable tinned stuff, which looked disgusting and didn't do Chris' glove any good.
Felicia's afraid Cass will risk it for Kathleen's sake. Wallingford's sure there's still hope for them. He told Felicia he'd seen Zane leaving the hospital. He's supposed to be away so she fretted. Mac arrived, concerned about Nancy. Felicia is apologetic. Kathleen sent for her. Exit Felicia. Mac called his private plane ["oh, Fred"] to go to Arizona.
Catlin gave Brittany a very hard time for being very bad at drawing. She made him show her. He found the gun to be a piece of junk and asked about the guns he'd given her. OF COURSE she still treasures them, they are the last gift he ever gave her and she loves them [I can see her now treading water with them rather than Evan, give me a BREAK, you jerks.] so they're in their MAHOGANY box in her room. He sent her to get them. Enter Rachel [disconcerted to see Catlin with the gun]. Catlin asked her to put a good word in for Britt with Mac. Britt reappeared and lurked in the shadows and heard him say he really wanted this for her because it would get her out of the past and it might be good for her to get out of town and travel a lot. Rachel said it was Mac's decision. Catlin apologized for pestering her with his problems. Exit Rachel. Britt said to herself, "that's what I am to you, huh? A PROBLEM."
Mac has told the world he's going to a convention. Liz and Ada gave him a hard time for going so quickly. Ada dragged Liz out to leave Rachel to talk with him. Rachel sees through Mac and condones the trip.
Up and up and up and up and up. There are footholds which Chris and Nancy can use, of course The thing is practically perp [⟂] to the ground.
Sally had a good time in the cabin with Kevin. He's going to a birthday party and then Sally and Catlin will take him to dinner. Where is Catlin? Sally laughed.
Britt lost her temper and threw a gun on the ground. Catlin got mad. She took really strange fits about what she'd overheard and accused him of not being able to control himself in the same town with her. He said she was always coming on to him. She cast up the Dry Creek motel. He said it was a mistake and wouldn't happen again. Britt: yes it will 'less I'm gone. Catlin: it's not right. Britt: right or wrong don't matter. It's what we FEEL. [oh, PLEASE.] They argued and she pretty much told him he found her irresistible [whatever Lola wants Lola gets and little man what Lola wants is you. I always get what I aim for and your heart and soul is what I came for... I'm irresistible you fool, give in. GIVE IN.] And nothing had changed. He said "Sally" [he still says Sally sweeter than any man I've ever heard...]. SHE said all right so he loved Sally and she wasn't saying GET RID OF HER [how magnanimous. This is the problem, she's being very nonthreatening and pretending she doesn't want him to choose, he can have his cake and eat it too. Am I sick?] she clutched his lapels [or what would have been lapels had he been wearing that sort of thing] when he tried to go and told him he couldn't deny his feelings. She told him they couldn't stop it and it was just the two of them. SO NATURALLY he kissed her passionately.
Vince [not the same as before] sat by Kathleen's bedside and comforted her. He gave her mama's rosary. Somebody burst in to take Kathleen's statement. Kathleen was forced to admit that Cass had threatened Daphne with death and fought about money. [but that's just Cass' WAY.] Kathleen was distracted when Cass appeared in her window. She got a little nervous and said she was tired and had everyone removed. She called for Cass as loud as she dared.
Chris and Nancy kept going.
Further passionate kisses. Brittany jumped into Catlin's arms and he carried her back into a stall [he could at least have taken her to her room, of course it serves him right to be caught out but is it fair to Sally? And what about potential rampaging Corys, doesn't the thought of them and their pitchforks dampen ardour? Well? Well?] and put her in the hay.
Chris and Nancy found the Star God in the cave and rejoiced. They set about setting up the staff and the Princess. Nothing happened. They guess they have to wait for the light of dawn. So WHY DON'T WE MAKE CAMP, everybody else does.
Felicia found Zane lying down in his undershirt in the middle of the day and worried at him. Zane confessed he'd done something weird while diving and had been checked up. She took fits and cried and told him about Kathleen. She's hysterical. He tried to calm her. She tried to go.
Cass snuck into Kathleen's room. She worried about someone seeing him. He was in good spirits and refused to leave. He was sweet and kind and optimistic. She told him he had to turn himself in. He refused. She begged him to see reason. He told her he loved her. She was dumbfounded. He said he'd turn himself in but not before he'd ASKED A QUESTION.
Sally got rid of Kevin. She played the phone messages and heard Britt tell Catlin to be at the stables at 2 sharp. Exit Sally.
Nancy thinks it's romantic there. Chris can't deal with the lack of stars but they found a hole in the ceiling and looked at them. Nancy wished on them. He asked what her wish was. She told him if she did it wouldn't come true. He said he wouldn't bet on it and kissed her a bunch.
Catlin and Britt are tangled up in a blanket. He isn't saying anything but he LOOKS like he's Being Considerate. Is my flesh crawling?
When Felicia returned Zane was in a sweater. He was understanding of her upsettedness. She's scared of being able to rely on someone. He said she needed him. She apologized and left to see Kathleen.
Sally went into the stables but Wonder of Wonders couldn't see Catlin anywhere. She went out but then said "his car was out there" and went back in. She saw Catlin and Britt in nothing but a blanket with Catlin facing the other way and Britt with her head back on a bale and her eyes closed. Oops.
Cass presented Kathleen with a spray of some yaller flower. She laughed. He told her he loved her. "Kathleen I love you. And I finally realized that there's only one thing I need — there's only one thing I want. Will you marry me?" She LOOKED at him.
ADVICE FOR CATLIN: when a woman tells you that you can't resist her, it is not putting her sufficiently in her place to sleep with her.
