ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

April 28, 1987

Peter plied Lazarus with oysters and champagne in bed. She pointed out that oysters were thought to be aphrodisiac. He said only in months with an R. She said it was April. They dissolved in laughter.

News of Tony's arrest came over the radio. Nancy blamed herself for not having seen through him sooner. Rachel and Sara soothed her.

Mac and Zack hung out with Adam and MJ in the office. The evidence against Tony looks damning. Zack arranged for a spectacular lawyer in order to ensure that Tony would not get away with anything on a technicality. Tony was led in [in] chains. Mac was very stern. Tony denied everything. Adam bullied him a little. Tony said Adam was trying to use him as a scapegoat. Quoth Mac: "My nephew is a man of integrity and honesty." Nobody believes much in Tony's innocence. Frank Salducci, public defender, stomped in. He chatted privately with Tony. Scott [sent for by the interfering Zack; He's going to volunteer, too. Help him in law school. Oh. Yesterday he and Cheryl and her parents had had a tremendous powwow about the sex life. It seemed rather a crowd, considering] arrived. MJ sent him to fetch Nancy. Adam resumed yelling at Tony. He mentioned all the evidence against him and suggested Tony tell the truth. Tony said he would. Adam sent for the video equipment.

Nancy fretted. She gazed at the bracelet Tony had given her for her birthday, professing undying love. Rachel seems convinced of his guilt. Sara convinced Scott to give Nancy a few minutes. She asked prying questions about the Cape Cod trip. Scott clammed up.

Julie slept over with Cheryl last night. Cheryl had cried herself to sleep. She said "why couldn't I make love to Scott?" about a thousand times. Julie admitted she'd had lovers but she'd never experienced the paralyzing fear. Cheryl said she was convinced she was weird. Julie assured her there was nothing wrong with her. Valuable information: there may not be any such thing as frigidity. Cheryl didn't like to go to work because she was certain everyone Knew [if everyone Knows, it's her own fault. She's discussed it with everyone in town, severally and in groups or, in Adam's case, with MJ as go-between.]

Scott told Sara he and Cheryl were friends. Rachel insisted Jamie examine Nancy. Nancy fell to pieces about Tony's insincerity. She'd called Sam and the mother. Scott decided to take Nancy away.

Tony signed a release form. Adam made Zack the civilian leave, lest he become uncontrolled in his wrath. Tony insisted he was innocent and being framed by the killer. Adam accused him of being paranoid. [Adam does tend to go overboard.] Tony said he'd be willing to be evaluated psychologically. Adam asked why he hadn't wanted to talk to Dr Glaser before. Tony asked if he were afraid he had the wrong man. [are these statements in a logical sequence? Why would Tony think Adam had doubts?]

Peter said he was glad to be off the hook. Peggy pointed out that he had no alibi for Greg's death and had in fact being very handy to the scene. She laughed. He suggested she prosecute Tony. He wants to get his life on track. Peggy wants to be certain Adam has the right man so she can further her career. He made noises about the future.

Nancy was willing to go alone with Scott. Rachel said foul things about Tony to Jamie. Jamie has doubts. Lisa came in looking for Nancy. [she is the source of Jamie's doubts. She said she hoped the police would catch the killer after Tony's arrest.] Jamie offered to take her to work.

When MJ and Adam were left alone in the office she attempted to cozy up to him. He put her aside in favour of work. She was unable to convince him to come away for a couple of days to talk. Nancy ran into Tony in the corridor. She gave him his bracelet back. He was borne along shouting that he loved her. She went into the office to make her statement. She seemed bitter.

Lisa and Jamie discussed the pressure of their jobs. He reassured her about hers. She thanked him for sincerely caring about her.

Peggy promised afternoons of utter bliss. Peter: do you love me? Peggy: no. Do you love me? Peter: no. Peggy: why are we smiling? He said for the first time in his life he was in an honest relationship. He suggested they move in together on a temporary basis. She declined politely. Familiarity breeds contempt, and all that.

Nancy told what she knew. MJ calmed her when she got upset. Scott took her out. MJ: I feel so sorry for her. She REALLY loved him. Adam: just goes to show you how blind love can be sometimes. MJ: Adam. We REALLY need to talk. Adam said not now. She said they needed to set a date for the wedding. He sent for Tony. She accused him of avoiding her. He said he couldn't think about getting married until the case was closed. Tony was brought in, proclaiming his innocence.

Zack and Mac and Rachel discussed the case. Nancy returned with Scott and told him and Sara and Julie and Cheryl she'd wanted to comfort Tony when she saw him.

Lisa waited in the corridor. Tony told Adam he'd rented the apartment so the killer wouldn't know. Adam and MJ suggested he stop lying. Tony accused Adam of being uncertain. Lazarus walked in and said she was ready to prosecute and he'd better be certain. Jamie egged Lisa on. Adam threw Lazarus out. Tony was pleased.

Nancy thought about moving in with Tony. "Make love to me, Tony." and fussed to Rachel. Everything about Bay City reminds her of Tony. Rachel suggested she leave town. Julie suggested to Cheryl that Scott might not be the right guy.

Tony begged Adam to confess his doubts. Adam seemed hesitant, but MJ rushed in with word that Tony's printing kit matched the killer's notes. Adam bellowed for Val. Tony was dragged out, insisting that they had the wrong man. MJ tried to talk to Adam. Without a word or a glance he left the office.
