Mac doesn't get on nicely with Neal.
Mutual assurances of love. Kathleen isn't afraid any more.
Donna told Peter she couldn't accept Michael's intention to tell the world about Marley and Victoria. Peter advised her to tell them about Michael. She can't cope with the scandal. She's hugely upset because 19 years ago he wrote her a letter saying he never wanted to see her again. Peter told her that was ancient history and that Marley and Victoria knew she was their mother and they loved her and now they'd have a father to love. All Donna said was "my life is over." She can never love anyone as much as she loved Michael. Suddenly she hoped he'd come back on her account. She's afraid all he wants is the twins. Peter advised her to find out.
Victoria called Marley with Michael's invitation and the news about his Other Life. Marley said she had to go to a committee meeting at the youth centre to vote on a new budget. Victoria told her Donna had taken to her bed over this guy. Marley's as curious as Victoria. She agreed to try to ditch her meeting. She and Jake think everything is weird. Jake: Marley, the guy's a millionaire. Marley: you make it sound like he's a murderer. He thinks he's one of those stomp on everybody to get to the top millionaires. He said perhaps he was a failure because he didn't stomp enough. Marley assured him that he wasn't a failure. He said he loved her. Kissing.
Kathleen was not disappointed. Everything is swell.
Mac demanded an explanation. Neal swore up and down that he had no intention of ever working for the government again. Mac was not placated. Rachel's on Neal's side. She told Mac Neal was ready to settle down now. Neal asked for a job at Cory.
Marley and Jake reluctantly cut out their kissing to go to work. He said he'd sold the bike in order to be more respectable. She suspected he'd sold it in order to pay off his debts but forbore to press the issue beyond saying he'd get a new one with a sidecar for her and their offspring.
Peter chatted about the honeymoon and Brittany's plans for their wing. Donna was unthrilled but she told Peter she had no wish to be enemies with his wife. He asked her to get Brittany into the Bay City League. Donna is certain they'll throw her out once the Truth comes to light. She asked to be allowed to fix her own life first. Exit Peter. She set about preparing to go see Michael.
Michael is looking forward to dinner.
Neal will do anything. He wants to learn. Mac said there was no place for him at Cory. He's too inconsistent and he'd expect special treatment. Not so says Neal. Mac doesn't trust him. Rachel came in with the paper and the news about Michael. Neal said he'd known who Michael was. Mac became suspicious and asked what was going on.
Jake rushed back to Marley's. She wasn't there so he told Nancy the Plains Motel had been sold to an unrevealed person. He decided to try and find the guy and buy in or something.
Donna dropped in on Michael. She told him she had been trying to protect herself and her children and that was why she had reacted so badly. She told him he'd hurt her. He said he'd thought it was the other way around. She said he'd sent her a letter saying she was a nice kid but he hadn't been serious about any of it. He was mystified. She produced the actual letter and added that he'd said he'd been curious about rich girls but the reality didn't live up to the fantasy. He denied ever having written exhibit A [if I may so call it]. She had another letter saying "stop writing to me. I don't love you and I never did." Suddenly it was all clear to Michael.
Rachel told Mac she'd known Michael a long time ago and he wouldn't do anything underhand. Mac fled. Neal told her how Mac had been. He says Mac is fair. She disapproves. He said he should move out. She offered Sandy's house. Enter Nancy. Exit Neal. Nancy told Rachel Chris said it was over but she still loved him.
The letters were written to both of them by father Love. Donna wept. He told her it would be different from now on. Donna said they could start over. He said they'd tell the twins. She wanted to wait until they were honest with each other. Dissension. She said she'd tell them.
Nancy is distressed. Rachel was consoling. She advised her not to do anything out of anger. Nancy said she [Rachel] had never done nothing.
Kathleen still won't stay. Cass decided they should play monopoly. She refused. He suggested a drive to the bay. He suggested bed. She suggested her own home. She invited him over for coffee and necking on the couch. He was eager to go. She pointed out he wasn't dressed.
Neal guessed what was bugging Nancy. He told her she needed a strategy. Rules: (1) go out and find somebody terrific to be with. Have fun. Relax. (2) don't sleep with him. Keep it light. She agreed not to sleep with him [Neal].
Cass tried to convince Kathleen to stay. Cass: how about one more night of sin before you do your penance? Kathleen: the nuns warned me about men like you. Cass: and you couldn't wait to find one. She said she was a good Catholic girl. She refused to stay. He said the nuns had really trained her well.
Donna told Victoria to summon Marley for a family conference. She phoned Michael to talk about a family emergency.
Neal was taken aback. He produced rule (3): "don't go out with me. I'm too dangerous. You'll never be able to keep rule (2)." He kissed her passionately.
Donna suggested they say they'd been secretly married. He asked if she were out of her mind. She said it was a little lie. He was adamant and hung up. Enter Victoria. Donna told her to forget about the family conference. Victoria said Michael would tell if she wouldn't.
